I like how they asked how much people would be willing to pay in taxes without asking how much they already pay for private health insurance and for student loans. That totally paints a full picture of what such a change would involve! Do you think the results would have been different if the pollsters pointed out to

There were more PUMAs in 2008 than Bernie or Bust people in 2016.

Okay, but more people (including more than 7 out of 10 Democrats!) actually want what Sanders wants on those issues. If, as people insist, Clinton is pragmatic and bending to the will of popular opinion is always a good thing, she should change her tune on those issues.

When you look at the consequences of doing so, rejecting universal healthcare and education isn’t anything close to a pragmatic decision.

Oh no, a boycott!

Again, there’s no such thing. No one has it.

And here comes the ableism!

This may shock you to learn, but I don’t really care what someone like you thinks of me.

Yeah, unfortunately, most of us don’t do exciting things like make false assumptions about the racial makeup of other people’s cities.

I’ll do you one better! I note how you glossed over the entirety of my comment.

I always expect people to defend people engaging in the various forms of bigotry I criticize! You’re not shocking me by doing something new.

No, I didn’t, in fact, do that. You read it that way, and you’re absolutely free to do so, but that is not what I actually did. There is no such accusation in the words I actually used. Again, I recognize that “these people” was wording that was open to misinterpretation. I take responsibility for the way I worded

I didn’t accuse everyone of saying anything. I apologize for wording what I said in a way which led you to misinterpret it.

More than half of the people in my city were born in a different country. Only half the people are white. Nice try, though!

I apologize for wording things in such a way that led you to misinterpret them as sarcastic and generalizing. I take responsibility for that. That was literally the opposite of my intent. I generally try to speak as literally as possible because of these types of misunderstandings that come from people interpreting

Again, that’s not what “these people” was referring to. How many times do I have to repeat that? I was specifically referring to an actual group of actual people who then actually showed up and proved me right!

No, again, I wasn’t being sarcastic and I wasn’t generalizing.

Yes, “these people” was always about Clinton supporters. That’s who they are arguing against. That’s who’s engaging in that kind of response. Anyone can scroll back through the thread and see that.

I’m choosing xenophobia as an issue that I speak out against. It’s not especially exhausting, but it certainly exposes me to an especially diverse group of bigots!

Again, I didn’t bring up oppressed classes. You did that.
