Yeah, I'd agree. There are some stellar moments and characters in the later books, but Dragonsdawn was just fantastic, giving a lot more depth to the later books.

Really what you need is a system that can figure out what the book is without requiring it to have something on or in it - i.e. you need it to be able to read the existing text and labels on the books, and then figure things out from there.. Given that OCR is getting better all the time, don't give up hope yet :).

Rose.. rose should get killed.. I mean, she's not around anymore anyways..

There are literally at least 3 or 4 series of YA books with that exact plotline already. Why are so many people writing identical books?

The way you phrased it made you seem like a jerk. "Pale human"?

I think it's more wishful thinking and the placebo effect than anything. Time seems to move more slowly when you're sick, but really if you time the average cold, without taking anything more than minor medications, it takes about a week to start feeling better, then about another week for the lingering symptoms to go

I would guess that there are a combination of two aspects to eyes appearing different colors - for one, yes, colors will always appear different based on light conditions, and surrounding colors. Was the correction really necessary?

The ebook is free from barnes and noble at the moment... that's probably why :p

Why can't we just have some new ideas.... instead of sequeling, prequeling, remaking, revisiting, remastering, reimagining other people's stuff?.... I can't believe that the human race has just run out of original ideas...

Dear Io9. Can you please credit the artists you use for your title pieces, since I would often like to see more of their work, and have no way of finding out whose art it is.

and Neil Gaiman, too...

There's a difference between burning bone and burning flesh, that's essentially the difference you're talking about in the above scenarios. Much higher temps are required to reduce a human body to ash entirely.

Oh I am so with you on this... the evolution is only a theory thing drives me NUTS too.

Well yeah, that too.. as an artist myself, I'd appreciate being asked if someone was going to use my artwork on a site like this.

Any chance io9 could start crediting the artists whose images get used as headers for stories like these? I really love that picture and would like to find out who it was by... maybe I'm just missing where you credit them?

Totally. Nathan Fillion can do no wrong, by me.

Indeed.. I wonder what the genetic/evolutionary reason is for our proportions to ascribe to this ration...

Wow.. not only are the initial emails ridiculously insulting, but if you go further down, the PIO in question has been responding to comments and managing to make himself look even more ridiculous int eh process.

I love your analogy.. brilliant!
