I want to see some version of the “when the sun rises in the west” prophecy come true for her.

And Queen Sansa rules the seven kingdoms from Winterfell, the new seat of power as their lands extend northward to include beyond the wall.
She may discover Varys’ treason and execute him, she may turn on Sansa, alienating Jon and inspiring Arya, or she may turn on Tyrion which would have a wide variety of effects. I’m expecting at least one of these things to happen. In the end only Grey Worm and the last of the Dothraki will take her part.

Counter counter point: that was one of the most moving deaths I’ve seen in the series. You may feel as though Dany’s mind was made up before Cersei killed Missandei but from the look on Dany’s face afterwards it’s clear that the show is saying that THIS was the point of no return for her.
Seriously I still feel short-changed by the Rickon story line.
She had escaped to the skiff, as instructed by Grey Worm. That’s a lifeboat. She’s an easily recognizable high-ranking advisor to the queen. It makes perfect sense that she would be found and captured rather than drown or be killed.
It’s gonna be Sansa on the throne. Jon is gonna end up in the North somehow.
Seriously, I was really, really feeling her pain in this episode. She’s been suffering for the throne since before it was her seeking it. She’s been alone her whole life and every friend that comes into her life is ripped away. And here she is in a land where nobody appreciates what an incredible badass she is. …
I’d like an update on Ellaria and the nun-lady as well but I doubt we’ll get them.
Right on she totally should have done that. Also, Cersei should have opened fire on all of them.
I can’t understand everyone’s take on this. Losing Missandei just completes Daenerys’ incremental isolation in a hostile new land. I don’t know why people find this narratively forced. Of course a prisoner as high ranking as Missandei would be captured rather than killed.
I had no problem with any of this. If there’s anything weird about the crossbows it’s that only Dorne thought of them when Aegon conquered the seven kingdoms the first time. And of course Jon told his sisters because a) he is indeed dumb, b) they truly deserved to know and c) honestly I would have had trouble keeping…
Those are some killer veneers tho
Co-sign. I’m still a huge fan and everything but this was the least heart-rending battle of all. All your criticisms are fair. I’d say they have a shot at redemption in the trope department if they kill off a bunch of the favorites in the coming Cersei battles.
It also explains Jaqen Hgars obsession with her.
I had all the same reactions to their storyline getting resolved so quickly but I have come to agree with you here. How could you draw a complicated storyline out of the clash between men and the undead? There couldn’t be all kinds of battles and tactics because once they arrive they never retreat or regroup, they…
Someone needs to introduce this guy to the concept of consent.
The Whisperers sneak attacked them for no reason whatsoever and on top of that are totally batshit. You’d have to be out of your mind to make any kind of pact with them. The only thing to do about crazy murderers that abandon their own babies is to kill them all ffs.
Counterpoint: this episode was horrible. I mean I enjoyed it but was any of the dialogue not exposition? And definitely the worst acting I’ve seen even from the best actors. Everyone who died was someone I’ve been hoping would die for a loooong time now so this was hardly the Red Wedding of TWD. It was like checking…
