Yeah, as much as I look forward to seeing Troy as Lando, I'd much rather be getting an Obi-Wan noir-detective-in-space movie before Ewan McGregor gets too old to do it. He still looks great, but I've been hoping for that since they announced doing spin-offs.

Ok now I have to listen/read these books. I was a Laura Ingalls Wilder and Sugar Creek Gang fan and I really need to catch up with Anne of Green Gables. Plus, one of my best friends is Canadian and she's probably mad that I haven't finished reading these yet.

So sad. Internet Film Club was wonderful and fulfilled that part of me that wished I had studied film in school. RIP and love to his family, friends, and the AV Club staff.

Great point on pastiche stuff—I LOVED Animaniacs and of course as a child, my dad had to explain what they were referencing. Ours is ok on Newman films, but I don't think the US one has his most famous movies, e.g. Cool Hand Luke. Had a bunch of films with his wife, though, last time I checked! I mostly watch old films on the TCM app now using a cable code.

Teens now are somehow missing out today. I work at a university and the last time I asked them about old film actors, they didn't even know who Humphrey Bogart was. I'm only 6-10 years older than these kids and stuff like that makes me feel old. Ugh.
