Love the absurdity of the U.N. They talk of this as some sort of detention when its Assange himself choosing to stay there to hide from the law. Will chuckle when I see him put in handcuffs by police as he decrys that the UN said he should be free.

If he is innocent of the crimes for which the arrest warrant have been placed, then YES he should walk out the fucking door. He doesn't want to be tried, so NO he is not 'detained'

So, by this logic, if a serial killer locked himself in a tiny safe to keep from being arrested by the authorities the authorities would be somehow responsible for the deplorable conditions (the inside of a tiny safe) he put himself in to?

Despite the fact that the US has not charged him with anything nor asked the UK to extradite him. Assange is a narcissistic asshole with delusions of grandeur.

The only detention Assange has been subjected to is by his own doing. He has been free to exit the embassy and face justice the whole time.

It’s a weird kind of detention where he can walk out the door any time he likes.

Whilst it is clear to see the dilema he is in and therefore feels trapped to some extent, one cannot think why not just go through the legal process here in the UK. Given the level of media scrutiny etc it would be tough to not get a reasonable hearing.

Personally, I find them just a little too bulky for smartphone use. /s

I thought it was announced that there was nothing wrong with the tablets; rather the wifi network reserved for the team went down, and they would have had problems regardless of which devices they were using. Or am I thinking of something different?
