I see them every day, when I put my kids in the back of my 991.  It’s quite large back there.  They can climb in on top of their booster seats and strap themselves in even.  And i’ve got more than a few friends who do the same.  It’s very doable and very common.

Well I’m in my mid-30s with 2 kids (not babies) and DD a 991 and I have multiple friends in the same boat.  So, no not for babies, but they do grow and from the time they are about 3 til they’re gonna drive, they fit in the back of a 991.

Move to SoCal, we never let go of it.

It’s not an issue of old buyers, Corvettes do VERY well against all other 2 seaters. The problem is 2 seater vs 2+2. I’ve said it before but I swear 1/2 the reason the Porsche 911 is so successful is because people who want a sports car as a DD and also have kids basically have 1 choice, the 911.

So true.  MB or BMW - waste of fucking money.  Range Rover or Jaguar - you’ll be shitting ice cubes.

Those are almost as bad as the cupholders in the 911 (still!) or the old school BMW ones.  They kinda look cool I guess but Jesus are they useless.  God help when your drink is nearly empty, that motherfucker is about to go flying!

I think they are widespread? I haven’t owned a car without them in the last 10 cars my wife or I has purchased.

I love that somehow the caption for the lead image assumes that manual transmissions don’t have a reverse gear?

Definitely not me. I’ve owned M cars and AMG cars (both new from the factory), among other regular BMWs and MBs, and while the M cars are wonderful cars, in my experience they are very finicky while the AMG will just take a beating and keep going.

I think he’s confusing the story but Little Bastard is very much “cursed” if you believe in such things. It was never restored because it tried to kill those who would apparently, or at least maim them.

Well yeah, but it has a lot more than a AE86, in fact it has almost triple the HP (320hp I believe) than does this thing.

Well that’s certainly true.

That’s just it, it’s not a tight track really. Outside of the omega turns 3/4/5, it’s all about power. Once you come out of 5, you’re flat out (depending on the car) going through 8 and into 9. Then you’re on the long front straight before braking hard for a fast turn in turn 1 and 2.

That’s quite impressive to only be .5 seconds down on a 348 at Big Willow.  That is very much a horsepower track so he must be making up a lot in the turns to be able to get that close.

They had to do something. The Detroit auto show is getting less relevant (along with most auto shows) every year. Combining it with another spectacle was a great idea since you’ll have a captive audience already in town, bored and ready to spend money on events - just hope that it actually works out.

Exactly.  You don’t go from “exceptional employee” to “asshole doing donuts in a forklift” overnight.  He was likely doing dumber and dumber shit until it led to this.

They don’t make the bodywork in house, it’s CF that’s subbed out. Yes that does mean new tooling for whoever does that stuff but it’s not them AFAIK. I imagine the way that they are fastened to the body is still the same as the other versions since all Singers start life as a 964 and they have a lot of experience in

The tank is in the same place no matter if the filler is the center of the hood or on the fender.  The only difference is when you use a centered one, you destroy the usability of the frunk because you have a filler neck sticking up in the middle of it.  That’s why the center filler was ever only used on the RSR race

It comes from the RSRs (their race versions of the 911) from the 60s. That’s where they had it, I’m guessing it had something to do with fueling during pits stops maybe? I don’t really know why it was originally done but it’s an homage to those legendary 911 RSR race cars from the past.

Honestly if you go to a C&C in Los Angeles or Silicon Valley, you’ll possibly see one. There’s a decent number of them out there nowadays and the owners I’ve met are pretty generous about letting you drool over them.
