Oh, I agree that the B-class is the ugliest MB ever made (well maybe the R-class is worse) and the Golf is quite boring, but the technology is there for whenever they're ready to make the change.

Mercedes has a partnership with Tesla (that's how their electric B-class came about). I think they'll be just fine. As for Audi, the VW group has been doing electric cars for decades and they offer an eGolf among others already so I doubt either of them will suffer greatly.

It's on eBay with no reserve, currently at $500.

And that whole period in the '70s and '80s when you were forced to make 7 litre V8s produce 200hp – it's hard to imagine that happening anywhere else on the planet.

I would much rather have this than an E30 M3 (I guess most would based on value alone probably but I digress). To me, the M3 is a great car, but it has never really given me the same enjoyment it seems to give everyone else that drives one. These days I much prefer the lunacy that AMG creates over the more sensible

I found another spy shot in a reputable car blog:

Mercedes is doing this with all of their models in the near future. Essentially, you can think of these like the Audi "S" variants, whereas the AMG models would be analogous to the "RS" variants. The other main difference is that these are not built in Affalterbach like the true AMG models.

I see one every time I visit my brother-in-law. He bought it 10 years ago off craigslist for 300 bucks. Now, it has a seized engine and the paint is atrocious but it is a straight car and he has been working on it little by little as he can. The plan is to throw a much more powerful 3.4 in there and have a

This thing looks just like Johnny 5.

Since it doesn't need to be practical, this is your one and only choice.

Spanish twitter users going insane over something relatively benign? Shocking I tell you!

One reason is simply time. A few months ago, a friend perfectly summed up this car to me: it's a Point A to Point A car. In other words: this isn't a car you use to go somewhere. It's a car you take out of your house, and drive around for a while, before you return to your house. You don't go to the mall in it. You

Really? Because literally none of the R107s that I have seen which are grey-market models have ever been required to do that. Also, it is incredibly common in the vintage MB world to buy the euro-spec (or early US-spec since pre-'74 the US models also had the good bumpers). I'm gonna take a look at the VIN and

I don't think that is a euro model as it has the wrong headlights.

Funny you use this example because I always take notice when I see one as they are so rare. But until you posted this article, I didn't realize HOW rare they are. Still a shitbox though.

I think you're probably right. I love MBs, I currently own two and will likely buy a C63S when they become available, but I find these kind of editions annoying methods to try and rid themselves of extra inventory.

The SL63, like all SLs has a roll bar that pops up in the event of a rollover so I think it should be just fine, even with the top down.

The current lineup of Audi sedans would be near-impossible to beat.

Weird. It's been a few years since I had my BMWs, but the MBs all do real-time. I thought my BMWs did as well, but BMW bought my 535i back in 2012 so I can't remember for sure.
