I think Burlesque performers (which is what is being showcased in the opening credits), both then and now, would contend that they have as much agency as Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, and perhaps even blazed a trail for them. Certainly Broadway and Hollywood star Cyd Charisse had agency as well.

The point is that the women in the movie’s  opening credits are white (or appear to be) and the film is 50+ years old but nobody is demanding it be pulled from where general audiences can see it.

Any kid with access to YouTube or Amazon Prime can watch the opening credits to The Silencers, a Dean Martin movie made in 1966, right now.

Besides space, there are only three directions Fast and Furious movies can go:

It’s telling that the most intelligent explanations of science on Twitter have come from MC Hammer and the Steak Umm social media team.

For once, I think Steak Umm has made a good point here.

My anecdotal experience growing up in English government housing with a lot of Irish people was that the caricatures of Irish people were frequently meant to be harmful and frequently not taken well.

Bleeding Gums Murphy was a caricature of an African American jazz player and there’s no reason he couldn’t have a multi ethnic background like real life Jazz musician Charles Mingus many other black musicians. I think the core point still stands.

Dr. William MacDougal, better known as Groundskeeper Willie, is a recurring character on The Simpsons, voiced by Dan Castellaneta. He is the head groundskeeper and Janitor at Springfield Elementary School. Willie is almost feral in nature and is immensely proud of his Scottish origin.”

Ok. Can we agree that he has gum disease that could result in periodontis?

Yes, Hank, good job. Now do Godzilla, you bastard.

Caricatures don’t have to be purposely or overtly negative to be harmful, especially when that caricature is one of the few representations of that ethnic group. If Bleeding Gums Murphy was the only representation of the Irish in popular culture there would be some Irish Americans who found it problematic. Actor Jay

I love this idea, seems like an ideal match for an Assasin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla — style game engine. There’s also a perfect antagonist for the games Dora Milaje heroine in Black Panther comics: Princess Zanda, a member of the royal family of Narobia, a roguish adventurer and collector of artifacts. That’s a well-articulated argument that speaks to my main point: its entirely possible for fans to have a point of view on Pratt’s suitability that is based entirely on his body of work and not his personal life. That’s not to claim that there aren’t some fans who are judging Pratt based on his off camera life and

More likely she’s his daughter, daughter surrogate or the villain. If Ford was in his ‘50s, I’d believe a hookup was possible, but the man is rapidly closing on 80. As bad as Hollywood can be, I don’t think anyone is interested in geriatric Ford having sexy time.

Counterpoint: Jurassic World.

If it exists, there’s porn of it.

This is a stupid question as long as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Parliament Funkadelic and Louis Armstrong exist/existed.

it’s amazing how much of a difference just having stronger lungs that can make you feel as a person.

Putting aside all the controversy surrounding the Justice League film and just looking at the character, Cyborg doesn’t inherently thrive as a solo hero. Like The Thing or Kitty Pryde, he functions best as the symbolic heart or emotional center of a group. As Cyborg currently exists, there is not enough of a unique
