* Who calls Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson “DJ”? And why does Biden give large, intimidating men of color diminutive nicknames like “DJ” and “Corn Pop”?

That was my specific inspiration. I loved that version of Ultimate Fury, as brief as it was. I think you underrate the popularity of Fury doing James Bond shit — audiences love that car chase and running battle in Winter Soldier and I bet would love to see more scenes like that in the show. Fury should be a badass,…
Aldis Hodge has been on my shortlist of “stars who should be superheroes/villains” for a while now. I was hoping that he would be the MCU’s Luke Cage, but I must admit his hawk-like profile (and superhero physique) is a good fit for Hawkman.
I liked Tim Truman’s Hawkworld, but I think the Justice League animated series did the best job of combining Hawkman and Hawkgirl’s Thanagarian and Egyptian origins in a way that made sense.
Tim Truman’s version of Hawkman was great and is largely responsible for the depiction of Thanagarians as an aggressive warrior race that exists to this day. Other than that Hawkman is mostly known for how well Joe Kubert drew him and the fact that the Atom liked to use his shoulder as a perch.
The lying isn’t what bothers, as you state it makes sense for the character. The humor of the scenario was so formulaic that I’m sure Marvel has gag writers on retainer just for that purpose. It’s hard for me to enjoy the irony of the incident when the gag just annoys me.
Leftists and feminists? What I saw in that article were Democratic establishment leaders and well to do bureaucrats in the national headquarters of women’s organizations avoiding conflict and failing to protect (or worry about) working class women in red states and around the country. These are Democrats who were…
I know The Knick completed its story arcs, but, as with Deadwood, its a world I would have been happy to explore longer.
It involves an alien that looks like a housecat . And did that alien betray Fury or just act like a cat.
Different strokes. For me, it undermined the seriousness of Fury’s mention of sacrificing his eye in Winter Soldier. In general, it undermines the mystique of an eyepatch.
I must confess I’ve liked — but never loved — Sam Jackson’s Nick Fury. The first time I saw a black Nick Fury in Ultimate Comics I thought “this is a perfect role Denzel Washington”. He fits the mold of American James Bond far more naturally than Jackson. A super spy is supposed to be somewhat of a sex symbol…
Just remember people could attention better 100 years ago is that they had good cocaine in their sodas and at the pharmacy.
A data analyst examined the perception of increased movie runtimes in 2018. Here is the article: https://towardsdatascience.com/are-new-movies-longer-than-they-were-10hh20-50-year-ago-a35356b2ca5b
My pet theory, which makes this movie more insidious to me, is that Thurman’s character is Reitman’s take on the super famous and powerful actresses/female celebrities of that era. Figures like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Anniston, Madonna etc., whom, despite their professional success, received more attention — and…
But progressives have conveniently left out one part in their recounting of the Democratic fight for Garland’s nomination:
Why do so many celebrities start distilled spirit brands? Is it just a really easy way to make money or an easy way to launder money, or both?
Are these actual car designs or pre-viz for the villainous henchmen in the next Cars movie?
Hooch: “I could lick a shoe for hours.”
Turner and Hooch 2: Guess who’s having a Baby!
If Turner goes back to save Hooch, the Turner Point he creates in time could lead to a Crisis on Infinite Hoochiverses.
