Have you done any research on this? It seems to me like it works fine for you and that's great but you seem to be oblivious to the fact that this can be done with non-Apple devices.

I like the idea of a mainframe based society but with everyone using their own mainframe so they have complete control. It'd have to be a user friendly computer sitting in their house out of the way. That'll be their hub to all their content no matter where they're at.

I've just been pressing the power button on my PC to shut down Windows 8. Although, I can see your point especially if you're PC isn't sitting right next to you. Now that I think about it, it is a pain when I remote in to shut down.
