I think that some people collect things in hopes they’ll make a return on the initial cost. These people may do this because of them not understanding investments. So this $17,000 car may be worth double or triple now. Or you could’ve put that $17,000 in the stock market and you would have over $250,000. Instead you

You win, mainly because I like what you’ve done to your Econoline. I wouldn’t mind one with a Quigley conversion for 4wd.

Indeed it is a quirk. I’ve been doing some internet sleuthing to figure out how to get the auto lights and I think I have it figured out. The Sport trim came with the lighting pack, the performance pack, and the keyless entry/push button start but no auto lights. I think it probably costs more for VW to take out

I don’t care how cool the car is, if I see one of those dolls I shiver and walk on by that vehicle.

I’m with you. I have gone because I think I’m gonna find like minded people that I can relate to but it seems that the people there aren’t so much fans of cars as they are fans of their cars. If you don’t have a 72 Nova then GTFO.

Do you have a SE or Autobahn? The S and the Sport don’t have the auto as far as I know. Now I should specify that I could just leave them on all the time and they’ll turn off when I shut off the car. But if they are off they won’t turn on automatically when it gets dark out.

It kinda frustrates me that my GTI doesn’t have auto headlights. It has the upgraded Bi-xenon headlights that move with the steering but it doesn’t have auto on/off headlights. However, the instrument cluster is usually backlit during the day but when it gets dark the backlight turns off to remind you to turn on your

Don’t’ try it in a Cavalier. I had a 140 mile round trip commute for four years and did it in a Cavalier. Commuting through Chicagoland traffic in a Cavalier has got to be the most uncomfortable experience.

Thanks! I just went and checked out the welders on their site and they even had a comparison chart on the Chicago Electric vs. Titanium and the Titanium seems like the much better deal for only a little more.

Pretty decent list. I’ve been considering asking Santa for either the welder (always wanted to learn) or a Milwaukee impact (I already have other Milwaukee tools).

I always look at tires and consider them a mark of how well you take care of your car. High mileage on name brands means more to me than low mileage mismatched Goodtires or Bridgesome.

Everybody starts wrenching on cars in their own way. For me, it was the Haynes manual I bought for my first vehicle that gave me the confidence to work on my own vehicle. As always, assembly is reverse of disassembly.

Let me know what you get, I still have mine hanging around the garage even though I haven’t owned my XJ since ‘08.

I just don’t know. I do use internet searches more for vehicular related maladies now. But there is something more appealing about a well worn, stained, grease smelling book than a stained greasy iPad.

I don’t know why but I find these detailing videos so relaxing. Yet, I don’t have the time or patience to detail my own car. I owned this exact year manual transmission 2 door XJ and wouldn’t mind another. Mine was a beautiful blue color that I rarely ever saw. The big two differences between mine and his was I only

Turkey Day rabbit hole edition. I watched the video with the women who seemed to be hosting a talk show. Then I followed that video to their YouTube channel, only 6 videos. Then I wondered what the name of the show translated in english meant, Cultivated Mushroom. Now I want one of these but Wikipedia tells me only

I have them but of course it snowed overnight and I haven’t put them on yet. I guess I need to move some projects around in the garage and install them this weekend.

I have two of these and they work great.

The Chrysler dealer tried pulling this on me. Very rare T&C, that’s what we have in it. One smelled of smoke and the other threw a check engine light and lost power on a test drive. I bought a higher trim at the Ford dealer for less money.

Doesn’t surprise me that they can’t read people. I had a Ford dealer do the same to me. The sales manager even bet me he could give me such a great deal that I wouldn’t say no. At this I smiled started toward the door and he gave me a great price, which I refused. In fact the brand new FoST was about the same cost as
