Or in the case of the NYPD, go be a cop in Nassau or Suffolk or Rockland Counties. There, you can police a community that looks just like you- or perhaps it's your home community, go protect and serve them!

Thanks.

Apropos of nothing, except the fact that you mentioned it, Agent Carter was awesome and it's a real travesty if it didn't do well in the ratings. It's a hell of a lot better than Agents of SHIELD. So that's a shame really.

That's a whole lot of work for something I didn't want to "read" in the first place…I'd rather not and say I did.

I don't know. I can see what you mean, but I think we might have to agree to disagree.

Really? If you think that, either you have a high threshold for nonsense or you're not counting the TNG movies.

That was obvious but I still enjoyed it immensely…unlike Beyoncé when Kanye did it again.

No diss to avid audiobook listeners, but I don't think it's the same.

Totally…unfortunately.

I'm confused. I stopped watching Gotham a while ago swearing I'd come back to it if it actually got interesting. I thought Fish Mooney was a fan-favorite? Do people like her or not? Personally, I couldn't take her*.

I feel shame. The Maysles Center is a couple blocks from my house and other than inspecting the line-up occasionally, I've never ventured inside. Does anyone know what will happen to it?

Because it wasn't a knock-off of The Americans silly! It takes place in the present-day and the son is older than the daughter and he's in the CIA and well, you get it…wink, wink.

Yes, I think it would have been interesting and compelling and extremely accurate if they'd done the more complex thing of having the guy make that odious speech and then make it ambiguous. Have it turn out that he hadn't planted any knife (but that it really was just a receipt Brandon was reaching for). That's real.

We play the same role in our misfortune that white kids (and adults) that don't get shot to death play….And I don't know what else to say beyond that either.

From your picture I'm assuming you're a young black man, so forgive me if I'm incorrect.

Why do you think it's not? Just because the star is a Black woman? At the end of the day, attracting a *young*, "hopefully" white audience is what most networks dream of/strive for. More recently, PoC showrunners have attempted to prove that it may actually be possible to do that with non-white leads. (Hence all the

Thank you!

It's not really about what I'd prefer (it's about knowing your lane). But since you're asking, I would have preferred that they stuck to what they know….exactly what you said. Fluff, stunt and puffery (with the very occasional slight hat-tip to race and gender politics).

I'm in Joshua's camp…I can't with this episode. I mean I acknowledge that Shonda & Co. tried their utmost to be respectful of both sides (that that needs to be done in the first place is problematic for me but ultimately I know I'm not really Scandal's target audience -demographically). Maybe this was an attempt at

Listen, I know all about "magical negroes" and other assorted mythical creatures but again I feel Richie (like Kevin) suffers more from not being a main character than a being a perfect one. He's not fully fleshed out…it'll be interesting to see if when they decide to do it eventually us Richie-stans will still feel
