Yes. Not booking him at all would have been a great move. He didn't do that, though, did he?

1) Who said it did? I said people are pissed off.
2) Because tens of millions of random guys don't have a show that attracts millions of viewers. There's something called cause and effect. Normalize a shitheel and more people will vote for the guy. This honestly isn't very complex.

Remember when he released a music video? 2002 was weeeeeeird.

I think people are more pissed off about the fact that he offered up an interview on the Tonight Show to a guy who campaigned on bombing the Middle East and deporting millions of people, and used that opportunity to tussle his fucking hair. Being a nice guy doesn't mean you have to dance like a monkey for a monster.

Fuck off, Fallon. You gave up your party invitation when you palled around with a guy who ran a racist campaign and behaved like a monster for months.

Is cereal a soup?

Makes sense. Same reason I never fill out a March Devilishly Handsome bracket.

You can only heighten so much. I thought they'd taken it as far as they could go last time, but if they feel like they've got another level I'm ready to watch.

Pointing out the weirdness of a project and giving it a B or C has to be the most brutal review. An A means it was groundbreaking. A D means you might not get it. B? That's a knife to the heart.

Your employer can't demand you wear a burka. But they are fighting to make sure you can't get an abortion. So as only one of these two things are relevant, that's where people focus their energies. The only reason anybody gives a shit about burkas are because they believe Muslims are scary.

You think Islam is the only religion that creates a set of double standards for how we treat men and women?

So don't hand him a microphone. If he wants to get on his own soapbox and talk to his followers, fine. He will be completely ignored. Don't book him on your show though. His takes are stupid and shouldn't be given any attention. If we're assessing blame here, I'm blaming the people who book him way more than I'm

We also have freedom of religion and freedom of expression in America. If a woman believes that she should wear a burka, she should be allowed. And I say that understanding the warped power dynamic involved. Ultimately, it's her choice.
By the way, as an agnostic, I view all religious types as terrible. But this is

Nobody ever calls all Christians terrorists either.

Bill Maher may or may not be a liberal, but he's a hack as a comedian, and his takes aren't exactly groundbreaking. Honestly, it's gotta be embarrassing getting totally outclassed by Jon Oliver on a network where he's spent the past decade.

I wouldn't call giving him guest speaking spots "ignoring him" though.

I'm racing through the book I'm reading to get to this one.

BRING BACK THE BUD BOWL

I thought that was the Marlboro Man's job.

I don't think Charlie Day has a ton of range, and his manic, cracking voice works really well on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, but few other things. Also, how many good, big budget comedies get made anymore? They're really rare now.
