D’oh. Yes, Star Trek.

I’m not sure if this is the one where we say what we’re doing this weekend, so here goes.

I feel your pain, but also suspect that that particular ship may have sailed.

Plus, it was an ethos.

Same. This is a totally fun and interesting series, and I joyously drink all the tears of the Canon and Continuity Crybaby Club members.

Another perspective: Star Trek is not just for purist fans, it’s for all fans and people who aren’t fans at all.

Hey now, swimmers can run too.

And yet both are things you can’t do anything about.

As with every other article about Dune, ever, the comments are mostly divided into the following:

Oh, making a movie out of Culture books is a fantastic idea.

BURN

That is never the wrong quote.

Moving very very quickly, then photoshop.

Excellent Kinja.

Or, you know, one boring-ass movie.

I know this is tempting fate, but I just have to say that I am ungrayed here (even though I am a complete doofus about sports and only come for the comments), and on AVClub, where I was ungrayed in like two days, but not on Gizmodo, where I regularly make witty comments on things I care about.

Wasn’t he also in Eight is Enough?

This is satire, right?

No chance.
