I may have lost my burner but that's just like your opinion

The first vacation we took our kids on was to a little village with a lot of pretty nature. My 3 year old daughter (maybe she was 4?) cried in the backseat the whole time that she hates “the vacation” and for a few months afterward was alarmed nearly every time we got in the car lest we take her back to “the vacation.”

I tried to convince my kids for ages that they were born with tails that fell off when they were babies. They are 99% not buying it, but I think that there’s a glimmer of doubt.

Isn’t that a summary of John Turturro’s career?

That’s true, except for the many many Jews who do.

Red-haired Jews were common in Europe. If I’m not wrong, Bashevis Singer was a redhead.

We have contacts to hide those now.

The tail is really a dead giveaway :)

It’s really bad for your teeth.

Great!

Rosario?

starred for the bravery :)

YES!!! The worst co-worker in the world, a genuinely mean person who gave me hell while my kid was in the hospital with some scary-ass shit, was offered a job on the West Coast of the States. I am praying that she will stay there and never come back.

You can definitely do it, but speaking from experience as a teacher who did advanced degrees and is now in a high-stress, high-workload job, I’d like to echo the people who said you should really figure out how to get rest and charge your batteries on the regular.

I used to freak out about flying, especially long trips, but then due to work I had to fly about once every other week, so I just told myself that I’m an international spy flying undercover (and similar stories) and I basically got over it. However, there are still things that alarm me - airport security freaks me out

day-yum.

I haven’t but will look it up! I go through phases with SF. Last year I was into women SF writers like Le Guin and Ann Leckie (did you read the Ancillary series?), and the not-SF-but-whatever VE Schwab (FUN), but also dug into some old Asimov (I never read the Foundation series) and China Miéville (I loved the City

I really hear you. Have fun with the tai chi, you inspired me to contact a qi gong teacher I heard of to see when he has classes!

I hear you, but it’s sometimes interesting to go back and read stuff we read in school. For example, last year I read Moby Dick, which I had tried to read when I was younger with no success, and loved it. On the other hand, as for stuff that I was nuts about when I was younger -some holds up and some doesn’t.

It honestly doesn’t faze me too much by now. I mean, it’s jarring but my expectations are pretty much set very low.
