Trump is the classic slasher movie villain. You think he's down, you think he's dead, but don't put down the ax yet, Jamie Lee! You try to step over his torn-up, disgusting orange body, and he's just going to reach out for your ankle.
The impression I've gotten is that it there's no genuine content or emotion to the meme itself; it's just feeding on its own popularity. "Harambe is a thing we're bringing up now, so let's bring up Harambe."
They mostly kingsmoot at night.
Horror comedy works for me. Tucker and Dale Versus Evil was brilliant! :)
Neither to agree or disagree, but what would you put up as the best horror movies of the decade? Always on the lookout for suggestions!
The problem is the entire idea that it's okay to reduce individuals to their membership in some "cultural group." When an individual is unfairly attacked, it's right to feel bad for that person, regardless of their supposed group — this is part of empathy.
If you have to tell us you're nodding sagely, you're not nodding sagely…
Thanks for looking at a topic with fresh eyes and a critical perspective. So many people find talking points and just stick to repeating them (whether or not the evidence bears them out), it's refreshing.
Hey, that was a lot of fun. Really well done. Especially liked the Snoopy-Demogorgon gag. :)
Props to someone in corporate America having a sense of humor!
A lot of times, when you have a "soup" option at a restaurant, chili is available. Not saying that makes chili a soup (I like "stew"), but it's soup enough for Panera…
My chili is so, so basic. I'd feel bad, except it's delicious. Beef, kidney beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapenos, poblanos, green pepper, and the spices you'd expect (heavy on the cumin, lighter on the chili powder).
That's J-E-Double F (ha ha) J-A-Double R-E-Double T: Double J, Jeff Jarrett!
That's what I sincerely hope for. And it's that sort of thing I look to when I try to evaluate what we're doing today: is this bringing us closer to that kind of future? Or pushing it farther away?
I think, sometimes, when AV Club pats its head and says, "Great Job!"
I'm mostly out of the loop on the new wave of political correctness or "politeness," or whatever the pc term is for the new wave of political correctness, but that's what much of this boils down to, isn't it?
How would you do it, though? I mean, the noodle is wet, limp, unresponsive, and I can verify through personal experience that… er… nevermind.
Holy hell — Tina Fey?!? That's who you go after? Tina Fey is brilliant, funny, and beautiful.
For the record, Schumer joked that Mexicans are rapists. I get it that this doesn't make it acceptable for many people, but there's possibly a meaningful difference between making a joke about something — especially as a professional comedian — and a "politician" making a claim while running for office.
