I agree and disagree. I agree that manipulative criers tend to do it in public, whereas emotional criers in private, BUT sometimes you can't go cry in private if you are in the middle of a meeting, or some other task, discussion, argument etc.. I think we need to stop associating crying with weakness, and instead see

Must have been the longest 45-60 seconds of his life!

I love this story. Totally my parents style!

You are absolutely correct that you cannot reason with a child at this point. You safely restrain them, or safely drag them somewhere . If you cannot figure out how to safely restrain a child that has not yet hit puberty, then you need to do some research and figure it out, it really isn't difficult. I used to have to

I am pretty sure the yellow ribbon project actually covers this. My understanding of the project was that the yellow ribbon indicated not to interact / approach the dog at all. So no humans, no other animals, etc. I really hope it takes off, my dog is super friendly, but WAY over-excited and will bark when he sees

I was going to post something very similar! Early intervention is SUPER effective in children with a variety of special needs. Just talk to your doctor if things are developing slower than they should be, a parent shouldn't freak out about it, but acting all nonchalant isn't a great reaction either!

I had no idea! Those pictures are adorable!

What happens if he falls off? Pigs can't swim can they? This would be SO MUCH CUTER if he had a little life jacket on!

Oh the checks are easy to remedy. I kept my last name, and our grandparents (both my husbands and myself) continually give us individual holiday checks (which is weird anyway) with the wrong last name. I kept my last name, and they always give me my husbands last name. When you go to the bank they just make you sign

Agreed. I didn't change my last name, because I like my name. My husband really had no problems with it at all. Neither of us really thought about it much. We both find it pretty hilarious that it screws around with people so much. For instance, when we signed up for a CSA box, I did it, and they keep calling him

This made my day! I especially loved the dogs that would close one eye and that side of their face would twitch before they sneezed!

I would legit pass this along to the cops, sounds like the beginning of a creepy criminal minds esque stalker!

I went to a small liberal arts, hippy / hipster university in eastern Canada. You felt abnormal/ judged if you didn't use a diva cup! They are sooo AWESOME!

How cool is that right?!

Well it doesn't necessarily make it a bad study, but one certainly shouldn't draw a lot of concrete conclusions from it. This is a very serious limitation to the study. To be honest I am surprised it was published with so few participants, usually journals using group designs would just reject it and say "get more

Agreed 100%. I am the same way, and posted a very similar comment on another post. She needs to stop complaining to the whole world about tabloids and jokes.

I think it is interesting that she can't seem to process that she is taking the joke too personally/seriously.

YES!

I loved this comment so much I read it out loud to my husband!

Yeah unfortunately it is. My husband Mr Monster works for a local NDP Member of parliament doing a lot of immigration casework. It takes many years of waiting (cough, the conservative government cut a whole lot of immigration staff, blame them) just for your paperwork to get processed and looked at. Mr Monster is
