I was kind of half paying attention to the show (mostly waiting for the Best Picture awards to come up, because I have family that worked on CODA). Which moment did they pull from The Matrix? Because that part where Neo actually stops the bullets in mid-air was pretty celebratory.

On the contrary, this is only the second time Zimmer has won in his career, despite being nominated a total of 12 times (including that period where they separated the category into two for musical/comedy score and dramatic score). His last win was for The Lion King in 1994.

The only thing keeping David Mikkelson from taking the site full MAGA is the continued desire to at least be seen as “neutral.”

I enjoyed it a lot, mostly because it was Batman being a detective, rather than an action hero. They haven’t really done that in any other movies so far. Of course there is a big obligatory action sequence at the end, but it really does show he’s more than just a goon in a fancy costume that beats up purse snatchers.

I’m not sure if you’ve thought this through, but, by refusing to be vaccinated, you have ensured that your child is exposed to at least one unvaccinated person per day, and has pretty much constant exposure to that person (since you yourself said you can’t afford childcare, I presume you’re constantly with your child).

The vaccine is free, and you can bring your kid with you. I won’t deny that there are some pretty big problems with how we handle healthcare (especially for women) and child care in this country, but this ain’t it, chief.

It was a weak script, with lame jokes and nothing really compelling to hook audiences. The actors did their best with what they had, but it was not good.

I still don’t get why the Snyder fans don’t like Gunn. Gunn has a lot of the same sensibilities that Snyder does, but he actually manages to pull them off in an entertaining way, with plenty of room for both humor and pathos.

The Naked Gun comes to mind there.  Despite the incredible silliness of the movie he’s in, Ricardo Montalban plays Vincent Ludwig with genuine menace, and it works so well.

That’s the problem when you correlate box office receipts to popularity.  Sometimes something doesn’t make much money because people don’t like it, but sometimes the marketing just sucks, so people never hear of it or just decide they won’t like it before they see it just based on what they hear about it.

They could stop giving these assholes money, for starters.
