Why would they go to court over it? It’s not illegal to make software without Apple’s blessing, even for iPhone.

I would love to see a major company like Valve publish a jailbreak app. It would highlight the problems of the walled garden in a way that would be undeniable.

To think, we almost lived in a world where Bruce Campbell was in a ‘90s superhero movie.

Somebody always has to be That Guy.

Well, shit, let’s just apply that logic to everything then. Let’s declare roads a “secure area” so that the cops don’t even have to have the pretense of smelling weed before they can search your car. Why the fuck not? You don’t like it, stay out of the roads, right? And none of it makes anybody the least bit more

When you say a fundamental wrong is not happening, I’d have to disagree. Don’t say the wrong thing, or you’ll be detained. Don’t not say anything at all, or you’ll be detained. You have to submit to a strip search (either through the use of backscatter machines or physically), or you’ll be detained. Submit to searches

Believe it or not, people are allowed to complain about things even if the founding fathers didn’t say a word about them.

Honestly, I never really got the convenience argument here. Is it really that much more convenient to push a button than to turn a key? Maybe it takes a second less since you don’t have to fish the keyless fob out of your pocket, but then, you probably already had it in your hand to unlock the door anyway, so there

Nor is there one on a private college campus, but that doesn’t stop him from evoking “freedom of expression” as an excuse.

But not when you’re talking about murdering people simply because of their place of origin, their religion, or the color of their skin?

It gets even better.

It’s a short list, to be sure, but I would think Mike Pence qualifies.

Yeah, that was definitely me too. Took me until my sophomore year of high school to realize those people don’t matter, and tune them out completely. And that, too, ended up being an unhealthy coping mechanism that left me isolated.

You do deserve it, and it can do good.

I support PCs in a corporate environment, and I’ve seen a fair share of CMOS batteries fail around the 3-4 year mark. Not 100%, but enough that I used to keep a few CR2032 batteries on-hand in the IT lab, just in case.

On hypocrisy
