You realize that your whole argument to this point has been, “You shouldn’t ask for Nintendo to sell it to you, because you can play it for free,” right? And now your argument is, “It’s OK to play it for free, because Nintendo isn’t selling it to you”? Do you not realize how circular that reasoning is? How old are you?

Ah, I see. So you’re a pirate, and you don’t understand why others don’t want to be pirates.

It’s always been a problem. But now the cancer is metastisizing; instead of being confined to a few games on one platform, it’s becoming an industry-wide practice

You don’t have to play it if you don’t want to.

  • The game has an androgynous protagonist.

Doesn’t work with a reasonably modern mobo. Modern motherboards (at least business class ones) tend to use flash memory to store settings instead of CMOS. Found that out the hard way when we got a PC from an office that closed down and nobody that was still with the company knew the password. We had to get a hacking

Which is why you take all USB and removable drives out of the boot order and password lock the bios.

True, that’s the really unfortunate thing. If Microsoft could go one Windows version without breaking things, I’d be super happy.

Unfortunately, good looking characters don’t get clicks. Bizarre characters and look-alike characters do.

I don’t mean this as a slight against you, but I literally have not had an experience like that with PC gaming since the ‘90s.

Besides the video quality, it also provides a better interface for tablet and HTPC users.

Can you actually navigate it with a remote control or keyboard, though? Because that’s always been the Achilles heel to using Metro apps in an HTPC setting.

I do want to add, I’m certainly not saying that piracy is justified, or that pirates are not bad people. I’m simply pointing out that the idea that “higher piracy rate = more people pirate” is not the only interpretation of those numbers, and also that “emulation/jailbreaking = lower sales” is almost certainly

Not all games with high piracy rates are in fact shitty though are they?

Even though I find it interesting that whenever a company actually tries to track piracy rates when their game isn’t selling well they end up with figures like ~90%

Ok, perhaps I read too much into your comment. If so, I apologize.

You bitch at me for speculation, yet you speculate on both the reasons for Wii’s third party sales and my motives. That’s rich.

The Wii had the second-highest tie ratio in Nintendo’s history, and beat the PS3 in that regard as well. So it certainly didn’t hurt. Nintendo never had any problems selling Wii titles. The third parties did, but that’s because most of their Wii titles were garbage, and by the time they tried to fix that, they already

Because being emulated totally killed the Wii’s sales, didn’t it?

I think what I’d like more than anything would be a MAME cabinet. I’ve dreamed of owning an arcade cabinet since I was young, and one that could play any game ever would be absolutely amazing.
