This is I think the 4th "real competitor" to the iPad? Each one sounds more plausible than the last, and Android 3.0 is FAR closer to an iOS competitor in the real world as a mobile OS people (other than techies) can actually use and might enjoy. I suspect there's a few more "real competitors" before we actually see

That's actually quite surprising... The Nexus S has pretty similar specs to the iPhone 4 for things that are likely to factor into a browser test. I would chalk this up as a chrome vs. safari comparison carrying over to mobile with little drift in the results. Doesn't induce me to switch in the slightest since the

problem is the GPS chip and antenna are built into the cell chip... even if it weren't it's an extra chip and antenna so it would put the cost up a little. Would be nice but this is better than a flat out either or option...

Humor is subjective... that said I'm still baffled who the subject for late night shows is since their audiences these days sound bored or are clearly dubbed (and not well). Always exceptions, but in general.

Haven't used an iPad 2, but I have an iPad one and I've used it along side a Xoom in the real world (as in not in a store, but where I actually do things) and you're better off getting a used iPad 1 on ebay or crags list.

Or install an adblock extension. With all the mentions of the horrid adds, and followups like this mentioning how to block them all I suspect this new approach is going to cost them dearly long term as ALL their users (we are tech junkies after all...) slowly begin blocking their revenue stream...

lol, well played.

For all the bad press AT&T gets you'd think their network didn't ever work for anyone ever. It's all either circumstantial, or statistical. The real world it's down to how their network is in the areas that matter to you. For me AT&T is far and away the best cell provider I've had (fewer dropped calls, better

IMO there's no reason to wait on the iPad 2. If you want one go for it, if not then don't. Apple is going to release iOS 5 in the next couple months. The apps for iPad are not going to be changing in revolutionary new ways, just incremental as they have done since the beginning.

Not a troll response here but a counter point (honest!). I feel the exact opposite:

FINALLY someone talking sense

Counter point to a reasoned argument: You need each Banana wrapped individually to keep out fruit flies? Can I suggest one bag around the Bananas? And can I also suggest it not be plastic because plastic is harder to dispose of than say paper, as well as it traps the Ethylene gas better causing your bananas to over

"they'll perfectly time the ripening of the fruit on shelves" translates to they trap ethylene causing the banana to ripen faster... this means more over-ripe bananas and more thrown away fruit... only now it's wrapped in a non-biodegradable petrochemical byproduct so what WOULD have degraded will also just fester for

Norton at all seems like punishment not a deal to me... maybe if they paid me enough to afford another computer so I could leave one running norton and then actually use the other one that might be a deal... at least I'd have a backup computer (albeit with a thrashed hard drive and overheated internals but it's better

You sir, don't have my handwriting, which can technically be classified as a war crime to make someone, even me, attempt to read my notes...

Agreed, if you've ever been inside a laptop about 20% of the total space is optical drive. Netbooks don't have them for a reason... the AIR seems to be getting by nicely without them, it's a big component savings (lots of moving parts, they're not off the shelf in mac laptops, they're bespoke for the system layout...)

You can install applications in locations other than the application folder (or move them). Unlike windows things don't have a tendency to explode when you shift them around (I cull most of the standard applications into my Utilites folder so I don't have to scroll trough them... sometimes Software Update shifts them
