I’m married to a photographer so I have seen the process some. From that experience, it is rare that after makeup and hair the subject looks much if at all different than they normally do. It is like they are just trying to get the perfect version of the person, not make them someone else.

copyright registration is voluntary, and NOT necessary to protect your intellectual property. It helps, but is not a prerequisite. And the evidence clearly shows that his usage of the model came first. So if Activision looked at that, and hired the same model and the same makeup artist to achieve the exact same…

I normally side eye at these kinds of claims but when you look at the images Activision came out with, the hair piece, the makeup, and in some cases the poses, it’s hard to argue. I hope he wins. As a photographer I would hate for my work to be stolen and this win would set a precedent in protecting creators’ works…

this could end up similar to the rebates or buybacks in dieselgate. I have a 2018 Bolt, and do the occasional road trip. It certainly makes the vehicle much less valuable to me if the 90% fix is permanent.
