100% agree, the slideshow thing is junk.

I know why Gizmodo wants the slideshow format, but it makes more sense for some articles than others. Having it for a news article about South Korea and COVID-19 does not make sense. Obviously I can’t force you to do what I want, but I can choose what sites to visit for my entertainment. If the slideshow format

If Trump knew he was having surgery, I’m just relieved Dr. Fauci made it out of the OR alive.

It’s like a vicious incel circle when you finally meet a woman who will talk to you and when she asks what you like to do, the best you can come up with is “I’m a more-than-full-time troll who writes a fake Wiki.”

I don’t know why people keep comparing this to retail. The difference between the phone in your hand and the computer on your desk is getting smaller every day. I don’t have to pay Apple for software on my computer, why should I on my phone. Apple doesn’t want to allow software that it hasn’t vetted onto the device

Even if as few with the gene survive and manage to reproduce, it’s going to get washed out pretty fast, and it’s a gene that kills them, not gives them superpowers, so I don’t think it’s likely that this would give birth to a new supermosquito.

Obviously they have to try something, especially if spraying isn’t working.

THIS. People saying “boo hoo, one billion dollar company is fighting with another billion dollar company” are missing the point that Apple has become so massive and powerful that literally the ONLY companies that could stand up to them on these exorbitant fees are billion dollar companies who can survive the backlash

Yep. Spotify, Amazon and a few others are excluded from the 30% cut. From the Verge article:

This is such a silly take. Sure, Epic isn’t a great company. But there aren’t many great companies with the influence Epic has, to influence the future of mobile commerce.

This right here says you are wrong. They really do think it’s popular only because of ios.

But Apple’s 30% rate is 90% profit. Very little goes to the actual tools and services. Credit cards charge 2-5%. If a real estate agency that charged 30%, I wouldn’t blame the agent for trying to get out of that. But in this case, the Agency happens to control all real estate transactions in the whole city, and

This analogy is horrible, as most Technological Problem with Real World Analogies are.

Might want to mention that, in regards to Russia’s Sputnik-V test vaccine, the Philippine president has recently accepted Russia’s offer to be their test country. The Philippines Health secretary is on record saying that here are preparations for voluntary vaccination of Sputnik-V.

It’s making news in the Philippines

We’re going to go the homeopathic route. It will have .000000001% hydroxychloroquine for maximum efficacy.

I’m one of the people taking part in the Moderna vaccine trial. There’s a 50% chance I got the saline placebo, but my arm hurt like a bitch for 3 days after the shot, (like a tetanus vaccination on steroids), so I’m hopeful I got the actual vaccine. Obviously I’m not “anti-vax” but I understand there are risks involved

The CDC just recently said that people are probably immune for *at least* three months - they are making a conservative, careful estimation there.

The problem, though, is that not that the station requires all sorts of work. The problem is that it means he imagines that

Voyager was concocted entirely by Reginald Barclay.
