Cruise racked up 200,000 miles without a single disengagement this winter in San Francisco. I would say Self Driving has already happened. Waymo is already taking customers in Phoenix and expanding into SFO. 

Tesla is avoiding the issue Uber ran into. Uber claimed their self driving testing was not subject to CA DMV disengagement reports because their car was under constant supervision of a driver... aka L2 driver assist.

If the Tesla had moved over after the Pickup they would have merged into the BMW since the BMW also cut off the white pickup truck to illegally pass on the right.
