Also.. wow RSS is still a thing?

From what we’ve seen from RTX enabled games, GI is not going to be a part of this generation in any substantial way. Reflections also aren’t being used in place of specular highlights yet. Putting a fresnel reflection on every character appears to be at least 4 years away on PS6/Xbox SiX.

Parallax mapping still isn’t

that’s enough rays per second for a whole spate of effects including global illumination

every detail is actual geometry. [...] the high quality model is then used to project unto the low poly to create special texture maps that will give the illusion of detail by reacting to lights and casting shadows (bump maps),

I can’t envision a generation after them that would present anything but a minor incremental update

Looking at the invoice, it appears that technicians replaced both the left and right halfshafts. $2,400. ...vibration while driving ... usually happen under acceleration

I replaced my tires on my Volvo C30 T5 at about 25k miles. I’m at about 20k on my Model 3 and have tons of life left.

a scrawny teenage elf with some serious self-confidence issues.

As a point of reference. The H1N1 year outbreak jokingly became “H1Nerd1" after at least hundreds of attendees got it. That was the worst flu I’ve ever had and I got it at PAX Prime.

Water is Wet.   But it needs to be said so thank you.

Your link says “lithium exploitations of salty flats require relatively large amounts of water. We discuss the research questions and priorities to preserve these valuable ecosystems in the context of growing potential conflicts for the use of water.”

So it uses water.  Yes.  Water conflict is an issue.  But compare

Don’t buy an electric car from 10 years ago they were very much early-adopter technology. But today’s electric cars should be fine in 10 years.

Yeah right now you can own an EV and live in an apartment... if it’s a long range EV. I spend about 30 minutes a week charging while at the grocery store. But I would have to charge every other day in an old 60 mile leaf.

Long range EVs are the solution to apartment dwellers.  Charge during errands.

How does this prevent ice and frost...the things I actually scrape?

I continue to be bewildered how 0-60 times are a compelling measure of merit for a truck.

There is a parallel parking charging space in my city on the street. It’s at the front of the parking space. And the spot in front is a no-parking zone.  So the only way to get to it in a Tesla correctly would be to do a U-Turn and park backward on a 5-lane road. :P  If they had just put it in the *middle* of the

What you’re missing is that power and range (and therefore range anxiety) are directly linked. The more batteries you have, the more power you have. Each battery is not only capacity but also power.

That’s why the Tesla Roadster has like 500 miles of range. Not due to efficiency or a desire to deliver an insane travel

Except seating assignments change sometimes just before take-off.   A digital boarding pass updates dynamically so if you show them the app and someone shows them a paper ticket printed 24 hours ago... you win. The computer is feeding the latest data.  Printer Paper guy probably had his seat moved automatically in the

What saved my ass in the past was I took a photo with my smartphone and have it all uploaded to OneDrive. I searched “recovery code” in OneDrive and it performed Character Recognition apparently in the background and actually found the photo of the website with the words “Recovery Codes” on it!

Wow. This sounds... awful. Thank God he was canned.
