This certainly needed to be said. I often wonder if the Black church is worried more about looking palatable for their White counterparts than truly being a haven FOR ALL BLACK PEOPLE.

Yup. My wife is a white trans woman. While it's hard for her, she knows she has it a hell of a lot easier than if she were a trans woman of color. Just looking at the murder rates alone shows that.

It’s pretty standard for trans people to point out that if we’re white the privilege disparity is massive compared to black and latinx trans people. A lot of stuff still sucks when you’re white and trans, but we’re a lot less likely to be murdered or end up homeless on any given day.

What about the third option of founding an LGBTQ embracing church? Some of us take seriously the idea that all of us are created in God’s image and that all of us deserve love and grace from each other - because each of us is given that by God.

And the vast majority of trans women killed, are women of color.

We’ll get to AIDS in a minute.

One panelist made it clear that in the eyes of his god, black transgender men and women were subhuman. “God loves them, but he does not like them,” he said sneering.

Unfortunately, many of those who forget we’re works in progress are the clergy and the ‘true believers’, those who somehow can call someone, someone that they claim God made in her image, a mistake.

Even people that are facing the right way in every way you can think of should consider themselves “under construction”. Humans are built to be prone to in-group thinking and to fear the ‘other’. It is only through constant work and mindfulness that we can tamper down our worst impulses. Admitting our faults (to

I wish that stars were still available for articles, because this would get mine. Thank you.

Too many of us forget we’re works in progress. I love hearing about someone who sees room for growth and can admit to some imperfections. Thanks for the article.

i was really glad to read this article. it reminds me of my journey from homophobia, how it happened and why i hope i’m a better person as a result. one day i was supposed to meet a friend for a drink after work and he ended up cancelling, so i sat at the bar having a beer and started a conversation with a guy who

There’s definitely less offensive stars than defensive so far. Ross, Richards, Gilbert, Wolford, Johnson, Perez, and Koo are all doing really well.  But so many wide receivers and tight ends can’t fucking catch the ball.  Hell, Atlanta would probably be 2-1 right now if their receiving corp didn’t play like they had

I would say that... perseverance is my number one atritude... aptude... attribute! I’m a people person. Uh, I work good with children. People like me. Because I force them to! With violence!”

Nintendo plays one hell of a long game.

Live reaction from Nike’s Quality Control Department meeting:

I think social media is a perfectly reasonable thing to rifle through to the extent laws allow. If I’m a hiring manager, if I’m an editor, my first move would be to Google this person and see what accounts come up. If somebody googles my name, they find my social media in a hurry, and unless I am going for a job

For a normal hire, it’s probably not desirable to do that sort of digging. For someone who is going to be your social media presence, I think knowing what their public social media looks like is pretty highly relevant.

Seriously. The next person they should consider firing is the clown in HR who let her get through.

It wasn’t the porn, it wasn’t the drugs, it wasn’t the legal trouble. She was the ex girlfriend of the boss’ daughter’s husband. That’s why she didn’t get inducted until she was dead. End of story.

She writes the way I think. I no longer think I’m crazy, I just haven’t found my people.
