Thank you for reminding me how huge the NYC area is. I hang out in Farmingdale, LI, NY, which is roughly the same distance from my house as Waldorf, MD is from the capital. Yet while Farmingdale is far, you have to drive a solid half hour away from Farmingdale to get to actual farms. (Yeah, I get the name. They paved

Slow down pimpin’.  I know with James Madison’s old plantation, they explicitly tracked down the descendants and cut them in on the action from the tours.  Perhaps that’s a model for other such tours to follow.

Interesting you brought this up, because some of the old comment homies were discussing this yesterday. Also, I know they did a full gut renovation of the Mount Vernon tour to emphasize the slaves that lived there over the past few years, so I figure it’s different now. They also did something similar where George

Well said on pointing out how THEY were robbed. This was supposed to be about a legend extend her legacy, or the next generation striding confidently onto the podium. Part of me wants to get them to meet on a public park tennis court in Queens to settle this. First one to 21 wins. LOL

This depends both on the production and the mindset all three bring to the table.  If it works, it’ll be the Thinking Man’s version of Watch the Throne (which was incredibly fun to listen to).  If it doesn’t, it has a chance to be the most tendentious piece of backpacker crap I’ve ever heard.  I’m hoping its the

I like Nathan, because he’s an interesting flip of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl stereotype.  Very well played.  And it’s interesting to finally get some backstory on who Issa really is.  It’s funny that Issa has been the protagonist, and we don’t get that deep into her *as a person* until midway through the 3rd season.

As Aretha Franklin once sang, Ain’t No Way.  The Church Mother will defend those pastors against those hussies and those heathens who brunch instead of serving the Lord attacking their beloved Right Reverend Bishop So-and-So.  *smh*

I saw that too.  With all the cops making sure people had clear traffic, they had to start on CPT?  Oh, and will there be a highlight package for this?

That reminds me of a church date I got stood up back in college which was at a Pentacostal Church. I was raised AME, so we have something resembling order and couth during service.  That was something SERIOUS.

The range, yes.  The depth?  No.  It ain’t her fault.  And I think she’ll figure it out in due time.  Just not now.

If she forged a relationship with Aretha in her latter years *Mills Lane voice* I’ll allow it.  Still, an invite would have been fine.

Faith Hill I get. Aretha has toyed with some country artists at Muscle Shoals, so this is a shout out to that era of her career.  Also, soul music and country music have influenced each other.  Faith Hill knows her lane, and she’ll stick to it.

That service will look downright speedy compared to this.

Also, I re-read the schedule and following Ariana Grande is the Clark Sisters.

I had just moved away from Detroit when it was host to Rosa Parks’ 11 hour long funeral. I know two people who left Rosa’s service to get something to eat and went back.

I think the cops will pull the plug on the funeral because they have to pay overtime for all of the security.  Either that, or call in the National Guard for relief.  You’ll have cops passed out in the streets.

Well, Whitney Houston already had her funeral, so they get the gist.  At least Soledad O’Brien won’t be as surprised the 2nd time around.

#facts  This might pay the mortgage this month, real talk!

I thought I was bad. I saw this schedule, and thought this would end at 6:30 pm. I’ve been to Baptist funerals where the sermon ALONE was 90 minutes and somehow dovetailed into the 2008 election. (This is the part where I’m thankful my dad’s family is Episcopalian, and I can skip that long part when he dies.) I wish I

I thought Vermont was #1.  Vermont is (relatively) diversifying with refugees and Mexicans working blue collar jobs.
