This thread completely ignores the fact that the “bones” of the Unreal Engine are old enough to VOTE. An engine’s age really isn’t that relevant - this isn’t like a car engine where the physical structure weakens irreparably over time. Bethesda has the source code to their engine - if something major gets broken by

“All game developers are rich”

This is the kind of bullshit that makes digital libraries such a scary thing at times, and is part of the reason why I still buy all my games physically whenever possible.

...sort of. Ultra was just a branch of Konami because at the time, Nintendo had limits on the number of games a publisher could put out in a given year (more or less it was an “anti-shovelware” policy). So Ultra was just Konami under a different name.

Good luck, but as someone who has driven a stick for the past 15 years, I’m honestly not sure how well this will work.

I just wanted to say thank you for this article. This is completely amazing and you deserve a medal for this. This is the kind of raw, honest journalism that the world needs more of on every front page in every news outlet across the world. Bravo.

Thank you so much for this article. I'm a hetero, married man but I've also done this for many years, and often gotten derision (even from my own wife) for it.

I think Tidus looks like a whiny little bitch in BOTH pictures. Frankly if I play this HD remake it will be in spite of him.

I'm in the same boat. I love the racing and the graphics, but I'm hating the omnipresence of cops, since being chased by cops means you can't restart an event, and let's just say I'm not the best racer around, so I need frequent restarts in other racing games.

Exactly. My house has 1 TV and 4 people total vying for it, and I'm not about to play violent or sexual games in front of my young children, which means that I maybe get 4-6 hours a WEEK of game time on the TV.

THIS. I would probably never have finished Persona 4 (despite several attempts to get into it on the PS2) if it hadn't been for the spectacular port on the Vita.

At first I thought this meant they'd disabled SwapNote entirely, but after reading it appears they only turned off the SpotPass portion of SwapNote.

While I share your disappointment, honestly they did you a favor, didn't they? Retailers have said they'll still honor the WD bundle (and you might even get a free game out of the deal as a replacement), and this also gives you time to decide whether or not you want to cancel your preorder.

MS might push companies to make sure the PS4 titles run in lower resolution, but realistically how much power do they really have here?

While our game does obviously share some similarities with Mass Effect in superficial ways, I can assure you that it will be quite different from ME in almost every aspect. The most prominent gameplay difference will be combat - our combat will include melee weapons, combos, blocking, and dodging, so it will bear

And yes, much of the animation needs a lot of work - half the animations in this video were prefabs we purchased just to make the videos. Animation, unfortunately, is one of the most time consuming tasks in game creation, and given our current lack of funding some of our anims had to be prefabs - and yes, we know the

Yeah the tentacles will look at behave much more naturally in the actual finished product. There will be times when they're "sheathed" and times where they act as additional appendages/fingers - there's a lot of work/thought being put into them, the stuff in these videos is nothing like how the final version of them

Much of the appeal lies in the legacy of the games' creators. The "predecessor" to this game, Planescape: Torment, is regarded by many people as one of the best RPGs ever made, period. Mostly because its story was absolutely amazing and beautiful, full of depth, memorable characters, and powerful emotions -

Compared to shots we've seen so far of Torment 2: Tides of Numenara, this is so far disappointing. The characters look very low detail (granted, the game is pre-alpha, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) and barely look better than the kind of ones we saw 15 years ago with BG1, IWD, and PS:T - I'd expect more

I think Nintendo still doesn't quite understand how America (and I assume Europe, though I don't want to speak for them) works - unless you lived someplace like NYC, Streetpass just doesn't work here.
