This is of great interest to me because I too shrugged off Aeris’s death when I first played FF7. I felt little to nothing for Aeris as a character or a sacrifice, so her death had almost zero impact on me, and this is also coming from someone who is a huge fan of both FF and gaming in general...

Oh cool, Borderlands 3 comes to Steam just in time for it to be cheap enough for me to buy it.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for all of the time and work you and everyone else put into this. I too played your group’s hack of FFV around ‘98 and words cannot express how much gratitude I had for it back then and still have for it!

Agreed. The system in BotW encourages hoarding rather than use, so in that regard it fails in its stated goal.

Plus, the weapons break so fast it discourages experimentation. I got one (and only one) flaming sword so far in playing about 30 hours of BotW and I’m terrified of actually using it on various enemies to see

I’m pretty sure this is proof positive that Nintendo really does have an abusive relationship with its fans.

Nintendo fans, congrats, you’re the gaming equivalent of a DV victim who stays through the beatings.

Can you play non-PSVR games using the headset as basically a face-mounted (in 3d or not?) screen? Honestly this is more appealing to me than the weird PS Move VR experience. I just like the idea of having a 65" 3d screen without the crappy 3d glasses that barely work and without needing to buy a whole new TV, plus

Tides of Numenara is not out yet, it’s still in either alpha or beta (I think it’s still considered alpha). It’s not due until 2017, so it’s a long way from finished, which is why any sales data you’re seeing would be quite low.

Honestly, people need to start realizing a simple truth about Nintendo: it is a VERY conservative company. Not necessarily politically or socially, but certainly in its game designs. It moves in VERY slow, plodding steps. Ironic given that two decades ago it was at the forefront of innovation. But somewhere in the

I think he meant to say “Ultra-Violence” not “Ultra-Nightmare”

This is the most idiotic thing I think I’ve ever read. And that includes the entirety of 4chan...

I picked this up over the weekend and while I’ve (mostly) gotten over the “it’s not a shooter” portion of the game, I can’t get over how SLOW it is. The ground level perspective lends an urgency to the gameplay, but (and yes, I’ve played MOBAs before) it just feels...sludgy. Moving around the environment is slow,

As a longtime die hard Metroid fan, perhaps I can help elucidate why this game looks so unappealing to me and other fans: it misses the things we love about Metroid.

I have a nice, custom built gaming desktop. Plays most games amazingly well. It’s the only desktop in the house. I also have a wife (a teacher) who works on assignments, grading papers, etc, several nights a week. She much prefers to do this on my desktop because it has 2 monitors and is a generally more comfortable

Probably grindy as hell, if past experiences with KRPGs are any indications...

Ignore, I somehow replied to the wrong thread.

Well you sort of can. Just...y’know...wait for all of them to come out and THEN play.

Also I love Square’s excuses for why they can’t remake the game. To paraphrase: “it would be TOO BIG!”

IMO this completely kills the motivation behind the REMAKE aspect of things. The whole point of a remake is to re-tell a classic story or to bring back classic gameplay, with modern presentation (graphics, sound, etc).

Honestly all of Square’s mobile Final Fantasy games are like this. They all have abysmal UI/Fonts and terrible graphics. FF Dimensions, FF 1/2 Anniversary, FFV - they were all clearly done by some low-rent chop shop outsource developer using the same techniques and tools, and they’re all abysmal. Square seriously

This. MMOs have all become carbon copies of each other, and they stopped being fun for me a while ago. At the end of the day, I just can’t “un-see” the grind in every MMO I play now. MMOs are designed to take a lot of time and to never (truly) end, and those are both 2 things that I dislike in any game.
