If you only need a huge SUV to protect you from other huge SUVs, then buying an even huger SUV is just an arms race, not actual safety.
You could shuttle your family around in a sedan as well. Depending on the Subaru, it may not be that big really.
And at the same time gas cars burn about 1/2 gallon/hr just to spin even at 5mph.
Yeah, whenever I get stuck in traffic, I always end up using less range than if I went full speed. So EVs actually perform better in evacuation situations (where traffic would be at a crawl) than they do in a regular commute with little or no traffic.
Weather extremes? Nordic countries get along quite well with tons of snow and smaller vehicles. Rain and heat don’t matter for trucks vs. cars.
Full size trucks and SUVs make perfect sense in much of the country.
An EV with ~300 miles of range stuck in traffic now has ~500 miles of range because the EPA rating was assuming 65mph @ ~4mi/kw, and when you’re crawling under 45mph you’re getting like 7mi/kw.
The irony is that the EV being used to evac likely has more charge (if you’re evac’ing from home), than an ICE vehicle has fuel. My cars are constantly hovering around 1/4 tank. EVs are generally plugged in at home. They’ll be just fine.
The dumbest thing about this is that this “media outlet”, like many others, is spreading this toxic idiocy like a cancer. The idiot isn’t the problem, the media who puts him on the microphone is. The click economy is going to kill us all.
eh?
Reminded me of a couple of incidents from long ago.
I’m visualizing how expensive it will be to own one of these out-of-warranty.
Angry Birds, TikTok, and a dash cam for Zoom calls... who exactly is the target demographic for this?
Not everyone wants that, though. A lot of people would rather have this than a tow vehicle and a SxS, particularly if they’d rather drive this as their daily than the tow vehicle.
These things won’t depreciate and you’ll get to drive one around for three years paying only maintenance and gas costs.

“poisoning American politics”? As if it isn’t a cesspool of filth now. He is an armature as far as politics go. Stock price manipulation is another issue though.
Assuming you don’t shop at Wal-Mart either since those D-bags out do that prick on so many levels on the DL. Or is it the appearance of standing up for your morals that you want?
