Not at all, I understood what they were trying to say, and it was completely dismissive of discrimination faced by trans folk. Which is nothing at all like people who are gay, or have tattoos, or dye their hair odds colors. Being mildly progressive =/= trans friendly.

Yes, dying your hair black and blue and being trans are very similar things.

As a trans person, I am entirely unwilling to criticize the reaction of a partner to their spouse coming out (outside of open hostility of course) . It really is a tough thing to go through.

Haven’t finished reading yet but I just wanted to say that being a trans woman who identifies as a feminist can be quite the complicated minefield.
