i grew up with plenty of fast food. Never touched a mcgriddle or any of the taco hell atrocities you mentioned. Used to eat taco bell plenty, through high school, college, early 20's. Then i found better tacos from greasy spoon mexican restaurants.

It’s like going into business selling cars that are cheaper than ferraris. not hard to price lower. everything else can fail though.
