Thanks for this! I had begun to assume it was some kind of aerodynamic thing because I always saw them in the chain pattern.

I guess accidental means “we weren’t trying to kill him...”

I agree.

True, but it is a mug shot—most folks don’t look like Tom Delay when they get booked...

Always read the HOA/condo documents closely...very closely.

I think the Root should try real journalism (instead of just rewriting other journalists’ stories) ad ask Paula Dean for comment!

Uhh...because racism was a standard viewpoint held by virtually all white people for most of our history.  Even those who were for equal legal protections often held social views that regarded blacks as inferior.  Put another way, the North was just as racist as the South--it just expressed racism differently.

When you have punched a guy in the face first, and then he comes after you with just fists, you are not justified in shooting him.  BTW, was he licensed to carry a concealed weapon?

As a trained peace officer, she has a higher duty of care than an ordinary citizen. Even if the jury finds it was purely an accident, grabbing the wrong weapon and using it (when the two are not similar and cannot easily be confused ) makes her liable at least for whatever the lowest charge of being responsible for cau

“Rare base model with manual everything!”

“reconsider Cosby’s mark in a society where rape culture, toxic masculinity, capitalism and white supremacy are shaping how we reevaluate sex, power and agency.”

I thought a 16-year old couldn’t be held to a contract in any event. Why isn’t this Grandpa’s problem—wouldn’t he have signed on the dotted line?

My in-laws owned several different boat slips at local marinas and rented them out as an investment. When they died, it was a colossal pain in the behind to sell them (the paperwork in Michigan was akin to selling a home). It was even harder to sell their old 45 foot cabin cruiser that needed updating and overhauling.

A boat is something I rent, or borrow from a less financially savvy friend.  :)

I still think they are mistreating Lizzo—her covershot is just 2/3 of her face, as if they were covering her body on purpose.

She seems an unlikely choice for an intentional killing—there’s no history of excessive force, racist comments, etc. (at least not that I’ve heard). Why would she want to kill this particular guy (and in front of witnesses)? It seems more likely that she is criminally negligent or guilty of manslaughter (because she

I don’t believe that the insurer downgraded his current coverage (causing him to pay less!) when he added a new car without telling him. I believe he told them to, and they followed his direction.

Great argument.  Thanks for engaging in rational debate.

I think the need for a stable home is greater than the need for closer affiliation with a cultural identity based on how you look.  I wonder how this story might have been different had the biological mother been absent entirely.
