Funny ow the narrative on this has shifted from “everybody knows Smollett made it up” to “well, I guess we’ll never know.” Put just about anyone else without connections in this situation, and the person would already be doing time.

Let’s just call a spade a spade... everything Apple showed was basically a riff on something already existing. The celebrities, shockingly, made it feel even more vapid than it already was. 

While not within the scope of this test, there’s still something to be said for simply hooking-up a Chromecast Audio, Apple Airport Express or similar streaming audio dongle to a larger, more capable system. It might sound weird, but there’s still no replacement for displacement.

Agreed. Even more, the article headline is disingenuous... this isn’t so much a “backlash” (think Xbox debut a few years ago--that was a backlash) as it is a series of questions. And that should be expected this early in the game.

In short, yes. Digital Foundry did a comparison of latency between an Xbox One X and the beta version of Stadia and found them to be identical. Of course, there are a lot of variables, but it looks like the age of cloud gaming has arrived.

Honestly, I would have liked a dedicated box. I feel like there needs to be something “tangible” to this, even if it’s not required. Perhaps they’ll bundle Chromecasts with the controller to make it feel more real.
