How many of those steps would need to be missing for American cultural norms to not apply? If the game was made in Japan this would have been fine? Or if she had only posted the photos to the Russian site and it would be reported on here would you be saying it is fine?

Wait, wait blackface and people ranking themselves based on their appearance are not the same thing. People in Eastern Africa would often look down on light skinned black people before colonialism, that really has no bearing on blackface. Slavery existed all over the world before the Atlantic slave trade doesn’t

I am asking people especially Americans to tone down their rhetoric when attacking people from other cultures violating American cultural norms.

Sure they have a right to ban her, but I don’t agree with the general sentiment of her being labeled as bad actor and being called stupid and ignorant for not following those norms.

It’s not like am trying to score this, personally I just wanted people to examine where those were strong feelings of being right about this issue come from.

Her target audience being westerners is actually a decent argument. Not sure if she was actually targeting them, but at least that is a reasonable point that goes beyond following the “right” culture.

I am not even against her being banned they have rules and they have a right to enforce them.

It’s not black people form all over the world attacking her, it’s western imperialists continuing their age long quest of domination.

Do you have any idea how ignorant that sounds to the rest of humanity? No paining your face black is not a universally bad act, that simply is not true.

FYI in any legal system I know of accidentally killing a kid while swinging a samurai sword around would be judged differently than killing him intentionally.

I get your point, thank you for clarifying your stance especially on ancient swastikas. It certainly made it clear that we don’t have different stances on a very base level.

That is a very scary truth.

Explain to me how coming from a culture removed from what makes blackface actually offensive changing the context of the situation is a fucking fallacy?

That isn’t what your initial response says though. That isn’t what most of categorical responses say.

Your comment is getting a lot of vitriolic responses, I did not want to contribute to them with my initial response.

Isn’t a nation with zero links to what makes blackface bad in the first place a good rock?

You think a nation of 3 million has any chance to stand up to America?

What you are saying sounds a lot like western culture in it’s sensitivity towards this topic is superior to Lithuanian culture, and she as a minority there are only 3 million Lithuanians should follow American values/rules?

I mention many other things apart from slavery, blackface is made offensive by the way black people were treated by colonial nations, and how they continue to be treated in those nations.

Trying real hard. Do you have P.O box that I can send my dear big macs to?
