All of those things can be done without banning a flag, and none of those things are achieved by banning a flag. At the point where a society is ready to ban a flag for the reasons that we both have touched upon the actual ban does very little.

This is actually quite interesting from an outsider looking at American culture.

Banning any flag in every game is silly.

You can go fuck yourself with that palm of yours.

Not everyone speaks perfect English.

They are not offended by Japan or Japanese people they find offence in a symbol that they finds stands for Japanese imperialism.

Huh makes sense. Thanks for pointing that out.

Most probably don’t but there are plenty of people in Korea who take things like this quite seriously, and on a political level the relationship between the two nations is quite strained.

Sure it has nothing to do with Koreans except it was flung by the people who invaded their country on multiple occasions committing quite a lot of crimes against humanity the last time they did it.

Good on them, this is a reasonable change considering the history between Korea and Japan.

I think having them in game is acceptable, just like having full auto guns is acceptable, but neither of those things are what I believe to be accurate depictions of history. That however is my belief it’s not like I am going to launch a petition or something like that.

I think the only reason I am not gray on Kotaku is people thinking I from the place ruled by Doctor Doom.

Good points.

I simply do not agree that including something really obscure into and supposedly ordinary battle add’s to historical accuracy.

Sure, and if somebody said to me that those guns in game are there to improve historical accuracy I would call them out on it too.

Heck that isn’t that much of a problem to me personally, I just don’t like that they have to then go and say it’s historically accurate.

There are levels of historical accuracy. A great example of it is Ancient Greek statues IRL they were brightly painted, still even most art historians would not call a white marble statue in art depicting said period a historical inaccuracy.

Again not against including them just saying the reason cited in the article is disingenuous.

Pretty accurate as in female soldiers actually existed? Sure, but then you could also include bear artillery units, because bears have actually carried artillery shells in combat.

I don’t mind female soldiers in video games, heck I play female characters in any game that gives me a chance to do so. I don’t even have an issue with them in WW1 or WW2 games.
