Friend of mine had the same exact car. Got T-boned one day by some dumbass. What a great ride. I never owned a Viggen but I’ve had plenty of Saabs; I went with a Focus ST last time I was in the market, which is a very similar car to the Viggen.

Definitely NP. Wouldn’t mind having myself.
If it was Lightning Blue, I’d have it already. A silver one isn’t bad, but not my 1st choice. There will be a Viggen in my near-future. Currently have a 900se & my GF has a 9-3 turbo. (As long as everyone keeps being scared of them & the prices stay down, I’ll buy them all. They’re reliable, fast enough, and parts are…
Kind of surprised you didn’t mention it, but this is the car Top Gear America was able to get to 151mph in a cheap speed challenge. Two rear-drive V8s couldn’t.
Europe has to go to. The whole history and culture thing is just played out.
Is this you Mike?
It was 1 of 197.
This generation of the 9-3 was more of an improvement over the previous 900; it’s the last true Saab before the GM Alien Impregnation that happened in 2003.
Thanks for the write up @graverobber =)
It’s a Saab, it’s a Viggen, it’s an NP.
I’ve got an 02 9-3 (last year of that body style), and it’s got some GM parts, but not too many. It doesn’t drive or feel like a GM at all.
Upgrades:
I just finished showing all the guys at work my new car. You guys were too late. Better luck next time.

This was my car. It sold on Sunday. The viggen was a dream car of mine for a while. I found it a few years ago, and made it my own.
These were the best car in the world for looking at your passenger with an innocent look on your face, saying “Oh, it’s just a 4-banger” and flooring it at 3000 RPM in 3rd gear.
The Viggen is a 9-3, but on crack. It has the bigger B235R engine (from the 9-5), uprated suspension, larger wheels, brakes, beefed up clutch, and of course all the bells & whistles and body skirts/panels. I’ve owned one since 2005 and I still love it, torque steer and all :)
Looks gold and white to me
As a driver of a 08 6 Speed Turbo X (Check the profile pic) I can assure you these v6’s with mods are god damn rockets. Especially considering this one is FWD and not AWD. A few mods, a JZW tune and this car can see 360 whp any day of the week. The best thing about it? You can fit your whole god damn family in it.
