Those typical Autozone/PepBoys microfiber towels are junk. They will absolutely scratch and shouldn’t be used on paint at all. Towels that are greater than 300gsm (grams per square meter) are okay to use on paint. I have my own auto detailing side business. The only towels we use that touch a car’s paint are 600gsm

Saab engineers were smart (they had to be if they built jets, right? hah) It was actually done to reduce the amount of time it took the driver to get the car started. Seatbelt, ignition, parking brake, shifter, windows...all in the same spot. There is an article out there somewhere explaining this.

Very true. The stock wheels were so soft, if you hit a pot hole, you are pretty much guaranteed a bend in them. There are some aftermarket replicas out there that aren’t as soft, but I’ve always preferred the BBS RK1 and RK2 wheels on a saab.

Thanks Doug. I’ll be back in a viggen eventually. They stole my heart haha.

Here ya go @Carl.

Is this you Mike?

mine (one in article) was 1 of 197

It was 1 of 197.

Its an OEM Saab battery cover. The hard plastic covers are difficult to come by these days and came out for the 01 and 02 viggens. ‘99 and ‘00 had the soft cover ones I believe. However, I do agree with you where it resembles a 6 pack coolerbag haha.

Thanks for the write up @graverobber =)

Stock exhaust didn’t have the “saab” on the tip. Saabsport/Remus (aftermarket) was the company that had that.

Upgrades:

take a look above, I was the owner and posting the list.

Look for my post above. I was the owner. Yes, the rescue kit was one of them. Along with 6 point, 25mm race ARB, strut brace...ect... It had everything done to it possible without rebuild the engine with forged internals.

No problems when I had it. Sorry you had so much trouble with yours.

It had the Saabsport/Remus Exhaust =)

This was my car. It sold on Sunday. The viggen was a dream car of mine for a while. I found it a few years ago, and made it my own.
