Because conservatives value possessions and physical objects far more than they value the lives of minorities, protestors, etc etc...?

-Some bootlicker somewhere missing the point

That is “tactical eyewear

Also, the Portland tactic of snatching people off the streets didn’t go over well, so there’s that. Since it was clear the violence in Portland was due to the Feds sent in, they had to try another tack.

The cops had already determined they were going to try to shoot someone when they got word that the parties involved in this altercation were either black or homeless.

“This crime wave has to stop!” - White Supremacists
“What crime wave? There is crime every day. - Regular people
“Bu-but this is Black crime! So we should be extra scared!” - White supremacists

I am no conspiracy theorist, but...

For whatever reason I read the title as some version of “the joke is The Office cost a cool $60,000 to make” and I was like THERE’S NO WAY THE WHOLE THING WAS THAT CHEAP.

You described why it was the perfect song for Michael Scott to sing.

Haven’t listened to this episode yet, but I’d bet that factoid was uncovered because some listener wrote in to ask “When Steve sang “Two Tickets to Paradise”, was that improvised?”

Apparently no one who writes into that show thinks The Office actually had a script.

His stage name wasn’t Eddie Creative Commons...

This is wise:

I wonder if they’re willing to go whole hog and actually reform whatever housing segregation is enforced through their zoning code.

Yay, Asheville! If anyone’s looking for a cool vacation spot (once this whole coronavirus thing blows over), I recommend Asheville. There’s lots to do in town, and if you like the outdoors they’re just a short drive away.

I’m not saying it can’t be done, I just don’t see the political will to make it happen.  There’s a difference.

Also really important in Asheville. The last time I looked, housing in Asheville was not very affordable, and I assume that business space in downtown also comes at a very steep price.

We’ve vacationed nearby in Tryon and spend time at Brevard, the area is simply lovely.
Too hot for me in the summer, but the views are spectacular.   Weirdly, takes 1hr to get anywhere.   Doesn’t matter if it’s 5mi or 50.

Lovely mountain views, great breweries, and now some long-awaited justice. What more can you ask for in a retirement destination?

Asheville, NC is now on the list of places I’ll consider for retirement.  Bravo, Asheville. Bravo.

“We value all members of our community and are committed to serving everyone equally, with dignity and respect. I will take swift action to thoroughly investigate when the conduct of Sheriff’s Office members fails to reflect our core values and violates Sheriff’s Office policy,” she added.
