Good point...when most people simply expect playback, why spend more money on something that's mostly a different skin?
To check for bad sectors on the hard drive, use HD Tune.
Whether it will look sharper/crisper: meh, I can't tell the difference when I switch between the two on my Dell SP2008WFP. If anything, I think it's in my head.

Does this still use the same mechanism to upload? I had to upload 300+ pictures once to Facebook and it crashed EVERY single time, losing captions, titles, etc. Hopefully this may work better?!
