It just depends on where you are. I deal with LKQ and Upullandpay, and their prices are pretty consistent all across the board.

Dude, everything you’re saying is antagonistic. You clearly haven’t bought a drivetrain from a junkyard before if you think you just need to get lucky or something to find one in good shape. I’ve probably bought half a 8-9 engines and 3-4 transmissions over the years. If you know what to look for, they’re always fine,

No you don’t

They took a 17-second truck that gets 23-25mpg on the freeway, and made it a 12-13 second truck that probably gets 30-35mpg on the highway. Both engines being just as reliable.

This has been explained to you in this thread once already: Nobody makes money modifying cars. You lose money, because parts cost a lot compared to the value added (usually subtracted). The seller likely knows this, because it happens to everybody.

I agree. That car makes me want to make more money, and it also basically requires me to move to the other side of America to do it. That’s not the easiest thing when you have debt instead of savings, but hey, brown diesel wagon.

You literally just made stuff up about it and then dropped the mic. Everybody here who knows anything about these trucks and that drivetrain sees the bullshit a mile away.

You’re aware the 3800 and (likely) T5 transmission behind it regularly go more than 200,000 miles in fine shape, right? The 3800 is one of the most famously reliable engines of all time, let alone American engines. What exactly is going to break here?

What hidden issues? That truck is made from bulletproof parts and the dash comes apart in like 5 seconds. It’s a dead simple vehicle that’s wide open to work on. This isn’t a luxury yacht here. Unless you’re completely clueless about how cars work you’d have anything figured out with this in less than a minute.

“The GM OHV V6 isn’t the worst powerplant, but I can’t understand why it was chosen.”

Just that it lodges that song into the public context in a far less endearing light for God knows how long afterward. Sometimes those “ruined” songs get airplay for years.

Jesus

Yeah but every single detail about this photo points toward this being in the South or Midwest. Those are what we call the “gut zone” of America. The Pacific, Southwest, and Northeast don’t have this much of a problem. Hell even Florida is off the hook for this, from Orlando southward.

Iz not ok.

Because he bought it at Kohl’s, which is a fat people store that doesn’t advertise that fact. Seriously they should call their shirts “balloon bottom fit.”

Well that there is double shitty. You’re definitely in the running here.

Wait, you’re the kid from the knockup?

Yeah I agree. The final month/week/day runup to our wedding was the most stressful period of my life ever, and the wedding/reception was way too short of a payoff.

C’mon man, I’m on your side here, but babies don’t need a lot of room. They need one car seat’s worth of room, and legally aren’t allowed to move. That’s any four-seat car in America. Put in a quick-release baby seat and there ya go. My brother has one. I’d call him out for having a Cherokee but he’d owned them
