Yes, that is the downside of those tracks. Cars going off track (like me!) deposit a lot of junk on the tarmac. Riverside always seems to have a layer of dirt right before the entry and Bus Stop (pictured above) can get messy after the exit.
This is why I like Buttonwillow, WSIR, and Thunderhill: lots of runoff. Shit happens and it’s nice to have lots of dirt to slide into.
And flow matched. Mine were a complete mess. $150 later they were like new.
Took my Spec944 out to Auto Club Speedway for a shakedown HPDE after putting in a freshly rebuilt motor. First session, three laps later, I’m stranded at turn 2. Get towed in and start to troubleshoot.
My new (to me) A4 Avant has an 8-speed auto. Didn’t really notice until I used the manual shift option... it just keeps shifting... and shifting.

My rear drum brakes are locking up, and I haven’t figured out why. I’ll re-bleed the lines and re-adjust the screws and hope they sort themselves out. The smell of burning brakes gets old.

Turns out, he’s right: a frozen lake is treated as a public roadway, with a speed limit of 50 miles per hour. Imagine getting a citation for speeding while you’re driving on a lake.
Like Sean said, you missed the point. The chances of being in an automotive collision is basically 100%, but drivers don’t go around telling each other that. “Oh, you haven’t crashed your car yet? You will.”
