Ironically, if you need a high five machine, you don't deserve a high five machine.

I only scored 2, but feel free to imagine the spittle flying as I scream "quit liking those awful goddamn LotR movies!" I'm a very selective nerd rager.

Some thoughts on why audiophilia needs defending while videophilia is a national pastime...

You guys didn't notice the balls change color, too (0:26)?

I don't know about "very first." Tesla's right up there with zombies and clumsy kittens on the list of things the internet's obsessed with. And just see what happens if someone tries to speak up for Edison these days!

@eien: Yeah, science can be a real bitch that way. ;)

@alienchld7: Most recently I saw the baking soda myth tested in Cook's Illustrated. I can't link you to their site (pay wall), but here's a scan of the relevant page from the magazine. Other links? I think the first time I saw that myth busted was in something I read in college, around '98 or '99; I've seen it on

@pinkskittles: Baking soda is basic, which means it neutralizes the organic acids that are the source of a lot of food odors. But it only works on what it comes in contact with— unless you filter all the air in your fridge through the box of baking soda, it does nothing.

Simply having a box open in the fridge does nothing, no matter what you think your experience tells

Womanity?!?

@DustyButt: Far be it from me to psychoanalyze the guy, but penny slots ain't exactly high rollin'. All I'm saying is maybe he plays penny slots and trades coins because he's an old man and that's what he likes to do.

Here's an NPR interview with him I posted in #tips a couple of weeks ago: [www.npr.org]

Still pissed about lala, yep.

@SparklyJesus: I have 2 Gmail accounts, 0 Hotmail accounts, and 1 Yahoo account. The Yahoo account is the only one I use regularly. So, like, my vote cancels out your vote, haw.

@Shamoononon: Then how do you explain Darla getting all knocked up, hmm?

@ericesque: I'm still running 2k on my laptop! (700mhz p3, 512mb RAM) Gets the job done...
