I was there, in that rainbow mass of sweaty, partially drunk people, and I can confirm that I felt completely comfortable and safe. Bonus: despite the shoulder-to-shoulder crowding around the parade route, people were really polite.

I watched the HBO miniseries, which like basically everyone else I fucking loved, and now my once very strong desire to visit Chernobyl has disappeared.  So I am at least one person who was so moved by the show (and inspired to educate myself further about the disaster) who won’t end up taking a selfie there.

Because Jon Stewart is a wealthy man with important connections, and because he is dedicated, motivated, intelligent, and willing to use his celebrity for a good cause, he sits on this panel and helps speak for first responders. One would think.  But look at the VA.

Do they play her songs on the radio? Why have I seen so many pictures of her but never, ever heard her voice? Why does she look 10-years-old? What percentage of the great garbage island floating in the ocean is made up of her neon products? Where did I put my dentures?
