I think what they mean by ‘pretty’ is ‘femme’. The majority of lesbians in movies and TV are quite feminine or, at most, tomboyish. There are far fewer butch or MOC lesbians.

Fun story. In 2011 I went on a date with a 3L law student at Howard. The date was awful. She was easily the most condescending and pretentious person I had ever had the displeasure of going on a date with, but the evening really reached a head when she described the racism she faced every day.
