That’s what fascinates me. Studios engaging in rain dances throwing salt over their shoulders. E3 was an illusion of necessity because the industry skyrocketed in profits while E3 skyrocketed in popularity.

>you can’t launch a game if you’re that close to bankruptcy
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were overly ambitious and under-prepared to create the game that they wanted. And hell, if they were that desperate for funding they could have released the game as-is as in early access and I don’t think they’d have nearly as much pushback. But everything they’ve done…
theoretically but it would be worse for them in the long run. to do it they would need to release a software update to block fortnite. android already has a problem with phone makers not pushing updates so even then less than 10% of androids would even be blocked. add in that consumers would suddenly lose access to…
He really said ‘Free Fortnite’ like it was a political prisoner, lmao.
there used to be something like that...but people complained about Valve “Gatekeeping”...so they changed it to $100 and you can put up your game.
Yeah, Google screwed up real bad. I was surprised by this verdict given that Android is already an open platform but I guess looking shady really is enough to turn the judge and jury against you.
They could, but that would REALLY be anti-competitive, and probably more directly actionable.
It was often the most wishlisted game on Steam for much of 2023. A lot of people thought a no-name development team could build a AAA open world MMO. It didn’t help that the dev team CLEARLY LIED about what features would be in the game.
Not to mention - the Google Play store is not the only game in town. Their platform is open enough, there are other app stores they allow onto the devices (a distant second is the Amazon app store).
I'd say it's a bit of a stretch to say this just looks like more of the same. We haven't seen enough of the combat to rightfully say either way, but it certainly looks like an upgrade to me, even if it is still a focus on smaller scale skirmishes. Largely 1 on 1. They've doubled the team this time, and have Xbox…
I’m obviously in the minority here but my thinking is why would I watch a trailer designed to make me want to play a game I won’t be able to play for ~two years.
I don’t think DA:I’s direction was necessarily driven by DA2's failure. Publishers have believed that bigger is always better for quite some time. DA2 was only small in scope because EA wanted it out ASAP and rushed its development.
I mean, the capital city of Reach isn’t even named in the books, even though it has a substantial population. So I don’t know if I’d call that “the important stuff”. There’s a mission there in the game, titled New Alexandria, which is probably the name they should have gone with, but it’s not mentioned much in…
That’s not my understanding of what happened to that movie (much as it pains me to defend Will Smith, who consistently refuses to make interesting or risky choices). The original ending that they shot was close to Matheson’s book. But focus groups didn’t like it so they filmed the theatrical ending instead.
I’ll never watch anything with Will Smith ever again. That’s how stupid After Earth was. I won’t get over After Earth. Please stop trying to push Will Smith. After Earth is irredeemable.
It’s even the conclusion that the movie itself is clearly leading up to, from the opening scene that analogizes Will Smith’s character to the genetically engineered “cure for cancer” that brings about the zombie apocalypse, to the repeated scenes where his character is shown to be in deep denial about the zombies’…
Chris??
But the Script didn’t even make it sound weird or Gross.
I don’t think I’ve ever had fish curry, though I believe it’s a fairly common sort of thing. Not wild about the idea of using tinned meat of any kind in it, but it also seems like a waste to use real tuna. I think this recipe would be just fine if you substituted some cheap mild whitefish. And also omit the olives,…
