I suspect that on the PS5 Returnal takes heavy advantage of the insanely fast storage and the GPU’s direct access to the SSD. While an NVMe SSD in a PC gets close, the SSD in the PS5 is still faster. To mimic the insanely fast SSD of the PS5 the game is loading more assets into RAM instead. The DirectStorage API in

Unfortunately it had the side effect of shortening other winners’ speeches, they’re playing that “hurry up” music pretty early now.

I mean, unless I’m missing something you literally can’t advance the story without sleeping. So this is less a tip and more of a tutorial point.

I am a huge Firaxis fan and I too bought the expensive version of Midnight Suns. And what do you know? 10 hrs in I have no issues at all and the game seems solid. I'm willing to pay steep prices to companies that I know will make a quality game with people like myself in mind.

I was thinking a lot about this as for many years I fell into the "never pay full price" camp. I decided to bite on Midnight Suns, super deluxe version or w.e for $100. That $100 wouldn't pay for 2 seconds of development time given the size of the teams needed to make the game. And the just like that I stopped arguing

I think most characters actual start with their classic costume and get the ugly midnight sun ones.   As far as smooching, I heard that was off the table.  Probably a Marvel license thing.  Which sucks because I want Blade and Ghost Rider to make out.

Yeah, feels weird that to have that kind of headline, then bury the “I’m not personally vouching for these” line further down. Undermines the premise put forth by the title quite a bit...

“Ten incredible games you need to wishlist right now, this is not an endorsement"

Kinda surprised that Tower Defense + FPS didn’t immediately conjure 2011's Sanctum? Gross looks good tho

I briefly encountered Kevin when I was working the autograph lines at MegaCon this May. He spent hours signing things and speaking to fans tirelessly without letting his (then unknown to the public) illness get him down. A true pro to the end.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Conroy.

The problem there is that instead of spending all your time in a crafting menu you’re spending all your time in a red/green arrow comparison menu.

That's an odd assumption

The Last of Us was not even close to being the start of the crafting trend lol. It goes all the way back to games like Deus Ex and even further. Hell you could craft things in original nintendo games.

this is a terrible take and a good signifier for someone unwilling/unable to learn complex systems and creatively optimize without handholding. I can think of several games whose crafting system is the primary reason why playing them was memorable and enjoyable: Last Epoch, Dead Space 3, Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragon Age

“Then, following the 2013 release of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed PS3 action game, The Last of Us, I noticed a growing trend. More and more games across numerous genres started including crafting.”

This is what happens when you play TOO many video games. Admit it.

It isn’t a defense dipshit and you’re projecting a fucking lot there.

I get what you’re saying, but arguments like this also kindof lead to tokenism, no?

Yo, heads up, Japanese devs don’t give a fuck what you have to say as a foreigner

If the vibes are off, I check the profile only to find that the commenter is American. How predictable.” Phew! Thank goodness they were American. For a minute there, we almost had to wonder if objectivist criticism was valid or not.
