When a director is called a “shooter” it means the same thing as “hired gun”- someone that comes in and “shoots” the script and just focuses on performance and visuals

These tentpoles movie nowadays NEED to hit the coveted billion mark, otherwise they’re failures, no matter if they make an actual profit.

Snyder may not be a visionary but he is a hell of a shooter- some directors do their best work executing a personal vision and other directors do their best work on a “for hire” basis- if you compare 300 or the Dawn of the Dead re-make to BvS or Sucker Punch- it is clear that Snyder is the latter.

Including Deadpool as a “game-changer” makes me believe this guy hasn’t watched that many movies.

Paul Verhoeven?!?! Why does he get lumped in there? Because of Showgirls (which is exactly what it needed to be) and Hollowman (Which is terrible)?
