It's anecdotal, but I’m definitely seeing less traffic on the highway. It seems like demand destruction at the gas pump is pointing towards a slow creep recession.

Im sure it's more about data collection than anything.  Big data is big money.

I think meta is a bit early, but will catch on. We live in a world where everyone has smooth filter turned on in photos and yet we are all getting older. Just wait till you can’t smooth away 30 pounds and wrinkles, but your avatar can always look young.

Thanks for linking the Earnhardt story, I must of missed it back in 2019. It does a good job filling in important info on accepting that concussions are a serious part of motorsports.

Im okay with the chip shortage keeping that double wide Wagoneer off the road. I’ve started to see them on the road and they are truly massive. I’ve also yet to see one that is doing less than 90 on the highway.

Is it beautiful? No. Does it look like and sound like a race car? Yes. If race car is the answer then any other answer is irrelevant.

If I recall correctly the French are pretty famous for bike racing. They should mix it up and put all on the line running the last race on a good old bike.

Y’all should get a deal to put a save the manual sticker on every stick shift Mini sold.

So he made a Chevy volt?  Not saying it's not impressive, but it's definitely not refined.

Maybe all championship points should be conditional untill budgets are submitted by the end of the season.

The Nissan GTR really changed how the car handles the driver. When Jeremy Clarkson broke his neck doing the Top Gear review I knew the computers had taken over and limits were just going to get higher.

This funeral procession is getting crazy.  At least they go out with one of the best looking cars of the last few years.

What percentage are sold with the six speed vs pdk?

Man oh man does it make my head hurt.   My mind screams Mustang then gets confused when it's missing the front.   It's not for me, but they get some points for a better than average effort.  A 2 out of 5.

I’ll agree that the concept looks great, but the vroomba sound was not something I think was well accepted. They are so afraid of losing the tough image that they missed the mark and went into a parody territory. If anything make it more visceral while driving, don’t hide the gear whine.

I wish you were the top comment on here. I deal with so many small business assholes that buy the biggest most jacked up truck and claim it as a write off. They never use it for more then driving to a site or for personal use.

I think the Ev will have a great first year then fall flat.  The article points out how they realized they can't evolve the brand without hurting the base and the Ev will do just that.  Mr. tommy Bahamas wants something big and loud.  My guess is they just move to the ram with a hemi.

I’ve owned my 2000 GTs since 2003. It’s a great car that teaches you to carry speed because all the power is at the top end. What makes the car stand out is the low weight and the Yamaha tuned 2zz. With a trd exhaust it sounds like a proper race car. Shit the 2zz end up in the Lotus Elise, it’s that good.

The man was a legend of automotive journalism.

This man taught me all about the apex and carrying speed before Gran Turismo took me to finishing school.
