I agree with this so much! I mean, if we’re going to accept that Finn can also wield a lightsaber with such competence AND have the best aim of any Stormtrooper to ever exist, then the “Rey as Mary Sue” argument falls incredibly flat.

His saber is a perfect example of his unfocused power. It it split to make a cross guard, it sizzles and spits like unfocused energy. It is emblematic of Kylo Ren himself.

This was one of the fundamental flaws with all three prequels. Lucas didn’t want to leave anything out, so we saw everything short of the midichlorians slipping Anakin’s mom a roofie...

Exactly, Kylo follows a literal interpretation of the dark side, so he thinks by experiencing these emotions then he will get power, but that’s how he thinks it works, remember he doesn’t have a Sith master, Snoke isn’t a Sith, meanwhile Rey also followed a literal interpretation of Jedis, also I think she is “loved”…

I really want him to become a Jedi. I think at this point it he could be force sensitive because he’s so unique to be a Stormtrooper but I was hoping we would get a more definitive clue in the movie. Though Ren was checking him out in the beginning and even Maz but I don’t know if that is enough evidence yet. Though…
